Clear golden amber with a reddish tinge, off white, bubbly head which disappeared quickly. So far so good. Aroma is a sweet malty background with quite noticable spicy hoppiness, probably a little more than expected for the style.

Nicely balanced flavour, noticible bitterness in the finish along with a very pleasant malt toastiness.

Might to medium mouthfeel with just about the right amount of carbonation. A class above the average Aussie macro lager.

330ml green bottle. best before 12/06
stylised HB text on the bottle cap looks damn near identical to a hofbräu label. huh.

pours an attractive clear light reddish amber color. just off white head settles to a thick lace and leaves good lacing.

aroma starts out a fairly strong and mainly grassy. tried letting this warm to see if any malty/roasty/nuttiness came out. nuh. not that i can pick out anyway. it does lose the grass, but its not replaced by anything unfortunately.

pretty light on flavor. well, its better than a pale lager, but not up to what i would expect from a vienna. some light malt with a bit of bitterness for balance. some light spiciness too, not sure where thats coming from.

good mouthfeel. smooth, not too heavy.
overall, nothing special. but does have some redeeming qualities.

BB 12/06 this 330ml bottle is the same shape astheir 375ml so just a little deception going on.
The beer is rich copper that does indeed have a red tinge. The off white head is loose and whilst there is a persistant bead it is scanty.
As the label suggests there is a floral hop aroma.
There is a pleasnat sweetness underpinning hints of banana and cloves that leads towards a pleasant and balancing bitternesss.Itdoes however tend to have just a touch of sourness at the end of the palate which may reduce this beers sessionability.
It is smooth and balanced in the mouth and the low level of carbonation noted in the glasss seems just about right in the mouth.
I enjoyed this beer because it stands apart from the macrolagers and it is readily accessable
