I never heard of this style of Foster's before and for the price of $1.89 I thought, why not.

A- Poured about half the can into my pint glass, and a generous amount on my desk. Be careful when pouring this stuff. Huge foamy head that will lace a little. The beer itself is an orange color.

S- A sweet grainy malt smell

T- I'm not sure how to describe it, caramel malts followed with a tinge of bitterness almost like grapefruit

M- Medium body wit mild carbonation.

D- Its OK. I don't know if I would buy it again or not. Its worth the money however.

25.4 ounce can for 2 bucks.

A: Nice amber color with a 1 finger head and good retention.

S: A little bit of hops and malt but not much.

T: Moderate bitterness and sweetness. Caramel/Honey? Really not too bad at all.

M: Smooth and somewhat rich.

O: I am really surprised by this one. Didn't think Foster's had it in them. At two dollars it's a good bargain. Might buy this again.

Sampled tonight on 3/27/14. Comes in a 750ml ( 25.4 ounce) 'oil can'. Never had this one before, just the regular blue Foster's. can chilled down to 36 degrees in my beer cooler and poured into a handled glass stein.

Pours a deep copper gold with a thin beige head. Some spotty lacing was seen but just near the top of the brew when sipped. The aroma is of malts with some hops. Nothing special. The taste is the same with the malts right up from followed by a hint of corn sweetness and a slightly dry finish that was a little 'hoppy'. Overall, not a big deal.

Green oil can

A - Deep gold (caramel color added). 1 inch head doesn't last but for a few minutes. Lacing is minimal.

S - A little malt.

T - Corn, hops, and a malty backdrop dominate with a nice dry finish.

M - Medium and smooth.

O - Got this for $2. Beats the snot out of the bland Heineken that costs a buck more. If you enjoy a pleasant, hoppy brew like me, kick back and enjoy!

Poured into an Irish pint glass.

Look: Deep copper color. Cream colored head that recedes very slowly leaving a light film. Decent lines of watery lacing.

Aroma: Vague, faint malts with slight hops on the back end. Barely detectable toffee sweetness.

Taste: Malts and toasted grains up front. Hop bitterness soon follows. Metallic finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, somewhat sticky and carbonated.

Overall: The beer looks decent, but not much of a flavor profile.

This is just the pits, Foster's used to be Australian for beer, then Canadian for beer, and now Foster's is American for beer. The "Oil Can" has brewed in Texas, or Georgia... and whats with the caramel color added? Not that American for beer is bad, its just not Australian.

The stuff looks good until you find out that the color has been painted on.

So anyway, Foster's "Premium" Ale pours a bright caramel color from the 25.4 FL OZ "Oil Can". Head goes over two fingers then turns rocky.

Nose is corn and and a chemistry set.

Palate is a toasted corn and paper products with the bite of carbonation.

This is so not a Fair dinkum "Premium" and I bought 5 cans of this stuff.

Like another reviewer said, this is better than their lager. I like the appearance; but the smell, oh my God! It smelled like the Florida Everglades after a rainy day, the taste was ok, mouthfeel a bit grassy and skunky. Yeah, overall; I will drink it again....nice lawnmower beer. And remember folks....keep drinking beer and support your local brewery. HOG

Appearance: Light brown/amber color, with a light brown head
Aroma: Light malty aroma.
Flavor: Toasted malt flavor, light bitter sweet finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation
Overall: This beer is on the verge of being a really good tasting ale. It’s definitely better than the Foster’s Lager.

This pours a dark amber color with a slight beige head. There is a slightly bitter/yeasty aroma. The taste is malty with a slightly bitter finish. The body was pretty average but the overall taste was pretty good given the rating. Quite a bit better tasting than regular Foster's.
