Pours a small white head that disappears very quickly. Very pale, clear straw body.

There was a definite skunkiness to the smell. Once the head disappeared it became very difficult to smell much of anything. I have to bury my nose deep in the glass to get a hint of anything. Can't really describe what I do smell. Extremely faint gum smell, with a little chocolate and caramel. But the scent is so hidden that it might as well not be there at all for normal drinking purposes.

Taste has hints of coffee and copper. Not a particularly pleasant beer. Really no complexity at all. Very one dimensional.

Bubbly, sharp mouthfeel. This is the best part about the beer. It's slightly invigorating. Makes me want to punch a Kangaroo.

I won't go out of my way to grab another one of these, but in a pinch I wouldn't turn one down either. If this is Australian for "Beer", then poor, poor Australia. Somehow, I'm sure that's just US marketing though.

Appearance – Thin yellow body with a cheap head that went down quickly.

Smell – The grainy skunk came out in force here.

Taste – The creamy nature of this beer can’t hide the Gummi-Bear sugars and hallow flavors.

Mouthfeel – Flat, watery, and unsubstantial.

Drinkability – The kangaroos are probably spitting this one out. Fosters adds a smooth style to the standard piss formula, but this ale has little else to offer.

Fosters 25.4 oz. oil can. A big and bold appearence on the outside... lets see what the inside holds.

This beer pours a foamy (slightly darker than regular american adjunct lagers) not by much.
Fluffy foam head last for minutes if pour vigorously and dies down to a light barely there head thoughout.

Smell is of corn, mild yeast and something i just cant put my finger on... possibly barley?

Taste is similar to the smell but has a tangy and mild flavor not noted on other beers, almost a artifical flavoring. Starts with a corn flake taste and moves on to a sweet tangy but dry finish.

Fairly easy on the buds but flavor of beer is just kinda pushy not smooth.

This beer is worth a try but Foster may be Australian but not for beer.

This beer comes a no supprise but I was still hoping for better. It poured a pale straw color with a small head that faded very quickly into a thin layer of foam. The smell was grain all the way with not much else detectable. The taste was not quite as sweet as a Coors or a Miller but was still overly sweet with just a slight hint of bite at the end. I have not had this beer in quite a while untill tonight and I think I can go the rest of my life without having another one. Thumbs down.

I didn't feel this beer was near as horrid as many make it out to be. Although not a personal favorite, I found it to be astoundingly drinkable. Ultimately, this beer is average. I wouldn't recommend it as a sipping beer but it's solid as a social beverage.

I seem to recall from my younger days (many years ago) that I thought this was a decent beer. Not any more. We were flying back from Texas, and I wanted a couple beers. This seemed like the best of some bad choices. It was a clear yellow with a small head and a fair amount of carbonation. It had an aroma of grain/corn. Taste was very vague. I'd describe it as somewhat sweet, and leave it at that. Not much either way for mouthfeel, and drinkable like water is drinkable.

Big big can with no freshness date.I have the half of this beer straight from the can and pour the rest in glass to see the appearance.

Appearance was a very average pale golden color with some bubbles ahead.

The hops in the smell, grains and some veggies also.

Taste like hops and grains, this beer is very easy to drink,to be honest i expect a little bit more of this beer.

It looks and smells like an aright lager, but one taste from its oil can container and it becomes this beergod awful beverage from down under (hell?). Sure the adverts in the US are funny, but it hardly helps to mask its hard to swallow taste. Thanks, but I'll pass on this one.

Pretty good brew i think. havent had a lot of this but what i have had was good. Pretty deep taste, not gormet, but not bud light. smells ans looks normal, goes down pretty nice and does not leave a bad aftertaste.maybe somethign good does come from australia, i would try another of their beers, way before i would pick up a french beer.

Presentation: It was poured from a big fat 25.4oz "Oil Can" into a pint glass.

Appearance: It has a light golden yellow or straw color that is very bright and clear. Tiny bubbles flow up the sides of the glass to form a big, light and foamy white head that leaves behind some lace.

Smell: The aroma is quite strong with light grains and a salty mineral scent.

Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor is very average and plain. It is fairly sweet and grainy in flavor with some light hop presence in the finish and a salty aftertaste. Its body is light and its texture is thin with an average carbonation that makes it easy to gulp down.

Notes: Foster's, Australian for cheap American macro lager beer.

Presentation: 25.4 oz can with no description of the beer and no freshness date.

Appearance: Pale sunny clear golden colour, good frothing of a white head when first poured. Yields a rocky and slowly dissipating two fingered head that soon enough is virtually gone.

Smell: Hint of malted grain, traces of cooked veggies and husky undertones make up the aroma which is relatively clean.

Taste: Crisp and grainy with a slightly refreshing smoothness. Light to moderate body. Sweet grain leans towards husky with light biscuity and powdery flavours. Even hop bitterness that couples well with the fresh graininess. Vague astringent flavours are mild and hard to trace back to their grain and hop origins. Husky finish that gradually dries.

Notes: A pretty drinkable lager, nothing to go “beer crazy” over. A good beer to wash down a working man’s meat and potatoes meal.

I wish I had been able to try a Foster's from Australia. This one is from Canada. Pretty much like an American style lager. Straw in color with a medium white head. Taste is malty with decent hops, not bad going down. This is better than Bud by far.

Classic oil can, that is attractive in its own unique way. "Australian for Beer", as their many tv ads proclaim, the can says this was brewed in Toronto. Pours into a pint glass a pale yellow color, with a slight, chilled haze. A large, rocky, white head is impressive, and leaves glops of foamy lace on the side of the glass.
Aroma is very skunky hops, worse than a Heineken. Some metallic aromas are also present.
Mouthfeel is well carbonated and light bodied. Bitter hop bite on the tongue.
Taste is bitter in a skunky kind of way. Very light bodied, almost watery. No malt taste, possibly some grain presence, but it's bitter and unpleasant. Metallic aftertaste is sickening, and long lasting.
I haven't had a Foster's in years. Tonight's experience ensures that I won't have another one in the next decade. I'm reluctant to trash a beer, but most of this was poured down my sink. Hopefully, a SNPA will clean my palate, and get rid of the aftertaste of this swill.

12 oz bottle, no freshness dating.
Pours clear and light, gassy/cabadgy nose. watery, no body, typical macro lager, no malt, no hops, tasts like alot of corn. Lawn mower beer from Down under, nothing more, nothing less. skip this stuff if you can. A shameful waste of good water.

"Fosters, it's Australian for beer". Kind of a half-truth, like that Yoplait Petit Miam ad - "It's French for yum". It's actually French for small yum, and Fosters is Australian for bog-standard palatable-when-cold-and-very-cheap macro brew.

Well, it's cold and it's cheap and most importantly it's here in front of me now. Minimal head, lots of lacing, not much effervescence, pale straw in colour. Smell - whatever's there isn't pleasant. Can't tell if they're actually hops or what. Taste is OK, goes down easily, not much thought. You don't need a Proustian scholar to do the job of a security guard - just drink it and shut up. Mouthfeel, drinkability, why am I bothering continuing this review. It's OK and it was cheap. I must say it's worse than Reschs Pilsener though, which was also cheap, but Fosters costs about 80c more normally.

You would drink this in Australia if you're rebelling from the throngs of Carlton Draught/VB aficionadoes. If you're trying to experience beer, even Australian beer, please look further afield!
