Best by 10/1/12.

Pours a clear light yellow with a 2 inch foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Random patches of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, corn flakes, and sugar. Taste is of grain and sweetened corn flake flavors. There is a very mild bitterness that quickly fades after each sip and turns into a slightly medicinal flavor. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty poor beer in the main area: flavor. The sweet corn mixed with the medicinal flavors on the aftertaste aren't too tasty in this one.

This brew was pretty much what I expected. Average all around. And that is a compliment when compared to most domestics. This beer tends to give off the impression of being an import, but in fact mine was brewed and bottled only four hours north of me.

So aside from the Australian gimmick, this really just tastes like an average American lager.

Its not great, but not all that horrible either.

Appearance: The carbonation was good. There's a good golden color. The head was not very apparent.

Smell: The smell was reminiscent of American lagers. It wasn't too overwhelming, but still retained a familiarity. Call me nostalgic of my initial experiences with beer, but it wasn't that unpleasant.

Taste: The taste was as I rated it. Average as reminiscent of an American lager. The flavor could have been more prominent.

Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel was saved by the carbonation. It wasn't all that watered down.

Overall: There's unfortunately not much to elaborate on this beer, in my opinion. There could definitely be taste improvements. Instead, the lager comes across as very bland and unoriginal.

For down under, not too bad for a mass produced product. Except that I must consider the bis involving this lovely summer weather, which tells me to sweat then subconsciously find any form of beer. I have been a bit crazy lately so I figured this would suffice. The wide body can provides that manly american pride that we too often take for granted. We often figure that the smell dictates the taste to be similar, but the aroma was much more refreshing than the taste. The taste resembles that of good enough, as I guess most people will not go out of their way to discover what can be coined, better. Be free.

A - Gee whiz. Bright yellow golden colour with a small collection of sparce flimsy bubbles instead of a head. Lacing? not a trace.

S - Sweet grass, grain. Not as bad as some AALs.

T - Follows the nose, with a splash of cheap white wine.

M - Very highly carbonated, watch for hiccups. Light bodied and crisp.

O - Yeah, drinkable on a January afternoon on the boat, as long as it's cold.

Poured into a pils glass. 750mL can.

3.0 A: Clear medium yellow color. Three plus fingers of foamy white head. Retention is good and a good amount of lacing is left.

2.0 S: Superbly dry. If I had to use a word, I'd go with "grainy," but it's very faint. No hops, obviously. Aroma is pretty much absent, which isn't good, but I do appreciate that the "sickly sweet" corniness is also at a minimum.

1.5 T: Ewww. This sucks. It's actually a little bit bitter, but it mixes with the sickly sweet corniness to synergize into something worse than the additive effects of the two. Malts can be described as bready and grainy. Strange and horrible, even by AAL standards.

2.0 M: Heavier light body. Carbonation level is low for the style, but decent otherwise. This beer lies heavy on the tongue; dead and lifeless.

1.5 D: Not a fan of this one.
