3.55/5  rDev +23.3%
look: 3.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 4.25

Appearance: Poured with a solid finger of head that produced some minor lacing, but did not stick around for long. The body is a clear darker gold colour with light, slow and steady carbonation.

Smell: Barley with some hay and mineral notes with some mild hops. It screams average lager to me. I wish there really was something more to say here.

Taste: Roasted barley malt with a slight hay note starts us off which produces a bitter kick of apples with grassy hops and ending with a sweet corn note, that someone manages to be interesting.

Mouthfeel: The carbonation could be a bit more aggressive and the head could have stuck around longer, but the smooth transitioning, mixed mild aftertaste and clean nature earns it back some points.

Drinkability: This does very well in this department, it's the light end of medium bodied, which is wear a good Lager should sit. I would have no problem drinking this all day, any day, although it was a little gassy in the guy. Solid stuff though here.

Final Thoughts: All in all a solid all around Lager and one of the few import lagers that appear to be worth the cost of importing. All in all it's a nice, modest lager.

Poured from a 500ml bottle, best before 07.10.2014.

Pours a yellow body with good head and spotted lacing, average for the style. Aroma is ho-hum, mostly corn. Bit of fruit flesh in flavor but has an overall clammy feel and skunkiness settles in once it warms. Drink this ice cold if you have to have one.

Drink before 11-18-2014

Appearance: Pours with a straw yellow color. Two fingers of head on the pour which quickly dissipated but was sparingly present while drinking. A lot of active carbonation but about right for the style.

Smell: Bready yeast and bananas hit the nose first. Soft cloves and mossy hops on the body. There is a touch of like wet paper funkiness but you really have to dig for it.

Taste: The front is a little watery with accents of buttery dough and cloves. The body is a plain and simple yet enjoyable breadiness. There is a lingering oak funk left on the palate after drinking which keeps you reaching back for more to wash it away.

Mouthfeel: The lingering funk isn't great but after that this is a pretty simple easy drinker. Carbonation fits.

Overall: Getting pretty much what you payed for here. It is a simple brew, that I would have no problem crushing on a warm day. If you enjoy this style I would certainly give this a go.

Blue and white "Lezajsk Beer" label, Polish wiki confirms this is the brewer, owned by Grupo Zywiec.

Pours with a rocky head that has impressive staying power, and plenty of sticky lace all around the glass. Saturated gold tone, perfect clarity, steady rising trails of champagne carbonation. Too bad the rest of the beer isn't as good as it looks.

Smells of soggy grain husks and graham crackers.

Tastes like wet paper, watery and grainy, thankfully not too heavy on the carbonation. Fairly medium bodied. Very faint hop bitterness in the aftertaste, which is fairly clean I guess. Overall though it's pretty bland tasting, and ultimately that's what makes or breaks it. Wouldn't pick it up again.

Poured from a 16.9oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a very light gold color, with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a very thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains lager yeast, light caramelized malts, some honey and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with a thin malt character and lager yeast up front. Then some mild caramel & honey sweetness comes in. The hops presence is decent for the style but there isn’t very much balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.

M: Crisp and but not very smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Not very flavorful, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, typical representation of style, it’s about what I’ve come to expect from most of the beers in the style, which is not very good.

500 ml bottle purchased fro $1.95 CDN. Served cold into a pint glass. Best before April 2015

Appearance - Nice golden hued color, however the head is a mere finger and dissipates away into nothingness as quickly as alight beer. Quite a few bubbles continuously make a spirited rise to the surface.

Smell - Not much, some slightly vegetative aromas and a slightly sweet caramel biscuit malt.

Taste - Sweetish caramel, but feels fake, other than that there's a dryness to the aftertaste that seems a bit musty. Some mild bitterness throughout.

Mouthfeel - Kind of flat in terms of carbonation, with a heavy body and little carbonation.

Overall - Not horrible, but there are many better pale lagers out there.
