Notes & Commercial Description:

Big Wave is light golden ale with a subtle fruitiness and delicate hop aroma. A smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The lightly roasted honey malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and also gives a slight sweetness that is balanced out by our special blend of hops.

Appearance: Big wave pours a pale golden color and is topped with ½” of white colored head.
Smell: This beer smells of hops with a small amount of malt in the background.
Taste: The flavor of big wave is hops with a bit malt of but there is an off flavor that I can’t place not sure if it is yeast or some type of mistake.
Mouthfeel: This is a medium bodied golden ale that has a nice hop profile but not much else it is a good drinking beer but not great with that funny flavor.

This brew pours a golden color, mostly opaque, with a light sudsy head which does not last long but remnants remain on the top of the brew until the end. Almost no lacing.

The smell is pineapples, cantaloupes, melon, peach and sweet malts. Strong overall citrus smell.

The taste follows the nose with pineapple, melon peach and other fruits dominating. There is also a sweet bready taste which remains in the mouth as an aftertaste. There are enough hops to prevent this beer from being too sweet but the hops never dominate the taste but rather stay in the background. I would guess this is what the brewers were going for and if that is the case, well done.

The mouthfeel is mostly creamy but there is also a slightly thick bready chewy feeling. Slightly dry on the backend.

Overall this is a very well balanced Blonde Ale. If you like the style it is worth trying. If you don't like the style you might want to give this a try on a hot day just for fun.

Slightly hazy gold with a nice soapy head with spotty bubbles of lacing on the glass. Sweet grass in the nose with soft malt odors; light grain, untoasted bread. Very soft flavors in the mouth; muted without being watery, tastes of water crackers, unleavened bread, lightly spicy hop finish. Very clean, easy and pleasant session beer, tasting like a cream/blonde style of ale.

Bottle to a Sam Adams glass.
Started of great - good mid to golden clear pour, with a nice body head and remaining lacing.
Smell was excellent. Clear notes of pine and citrus.
Taste was rather less than expected. Good mouthfeel, a little to the thicker texture but a bit too malty for my palate. The citrus pine hoppyness never really stood out for me.
Just average.
