Poured a deep blackish brown with a one finger fluffy tan head that receded to a ring of tan foam. It looks excellent, very deep and rich. Scents of roast malt, faint roasted coffee and dark cocoa. A typical porter aroma, with a bit more coffee than usual for the style because of the addition of Kona coffee. The flavor follows the aroma. Roast malt, black coffee, toasted malt and some slight nutty flavors with a roasted, bitter finish and aftertaste. The coffee is a bit more noticeable as the beer warms, and adds to the typical porter flavors, though this is still very much on the lighter side of dark in the intensity of it's flavors. Mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with moderate-high carbonation and a smooth, slightly watery feel. It's nice and easy to drink, but maybe a tad too carbonated and watery for my mouth. Overall this is a pretty good porter, the coffee definitely adds to the porter base, but it has a few small flaws and there are better porters out there.

Pours a beautiful black amber with a nice half finger tan head that melts to a ring of lasting lacing.
Aroma is definitely coffee...pure coffee...fresh coffee...strong coffee.
Taste is <surprise> strong Kona coffee...not bitter in the least...just strong and assertive with a touch of sweetness to it. A light smokiness is present throughout the taste...more so when it is cold, but there as it warms as well.
clean mouthfeel as it leaves your mouth with just a taste of the coffee behind.
This is a nice, rich porter...with a great coffee base that makes it a great after dinner or desert accompanying beer.
I will try to age some but doubt it will hold up well...still I would like to enjoy these as long as I can.

Pours from a 12oz brown bottle into a pint glass. Even with a quick smooth pour, there is little head to speak of. Color is very dark brown with a thin layer of white head.

Aroma is sweet carmel and slightly roasty like coffee.

Flavor is smooth and sweet, not too bitter. There is a slight acidic roasted coffee flavor similar to an iced coffee. It's pleasantly mild because it's enough to know it's there without being overly dominant.

Mouthfeel is medium-light in body with a good level of carbonation, if not a little under-carbonated.

Drinkability is very good because it's not too heavy, bitter, or high in alcohol.

Overall a good porter and a very decent coffee beer.

All I have to say is if you like porters...this a a wonderful brew!
A: Dark...with a little reddish tint if you hold it up to the light
S: coffee...malt...bitey
T: coffee, nutty, malty...chocolatey with lickerish overtones...yumm
M: not too heavy..since it is a porter...
O: I like it a bunch...must say I really enjoyed it....when you don't really want something as heavy as a stout...this is it...
