Longboard Island Lager is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for five weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavor. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body of this beer.

Golden and super clear. Champagne-like bubbles rising to the top to form a tightly packed, one-inch, white head. The head has no staying power and there is no lacing whatsoever.

Pear, straw, grain and a doughy aroma.

Pale malt flavors of biscuit and grass. A peppery spiciness and light fruit toward the end. A very good, very drinkable beer.

Seen this beer on the shelves for a long time never got it. Tried it on tap at Beach Hut Deli and was pleasantly surprised. Decided to pick up a 6 pack at the local Liquor store. This stuff is available everywhere in Sac town.

Pours a medium yellow hazy color. Looks like a hefeweizen more than anything. Head dissapates quick, good lacing though.

Taste is very subtle but sweet. I don't get an overwhelming taste in either direction for most of the way through. It does have a nice lemon zest on the finish, though.

Good carbonation and easy drinking in this lager. Overall this beer really reminds me of Great White but with less orange flavor. I would definetly buy again and is really easy to drink without complaint of being too watery.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Color was pale golden, very clear. Small amount of head, maybe ½ inches that dissipated quickly. Minimal lacing on the top. Small amount of film on the sides.

Typical smell of lagers but always weak to me. Adjusted with the 3.0 rating. Cereal, bread and corn malts. Grassy and grainy, too.

Tasted pretty similar to the smell. Corn and roasty malts led the way. Cereal malts, too.

Light body. Thin texture. Lively (moderate) carbonation.

This beer was a bit disappointing after having the Kona Pale Ale. Lagers are hit and miss with me and this was a miss.

A - Slightly hazy, still see-through light wheat yellow with 1 finger perfectly white head that thins to a layer of tiny bubbles almost immediately. A few carbonation bubbles seen rising, but not much.

S - Sweet pilsner malts, light bready yeasts, hints of earthy hops, the standard lager aroma without smelling like the BMC beers.

T - Same as the aroma, creamy pilsner malts form the backbone with a light hint of bready yeast. Almost a sort of peppercorn flavor as well, not as prominent as a saison, but present. Hops fade even more than in the aroma.

M - Thin body, big tingle of carbonation even thought it isn't present in the appearance. Finish is light and fleeting. Sweet malts with hints of peppercorn are the aftertaste, they fade pretty quickly.

O - Good lager, I haven't had anything in this style, but I'd say it fits right in with something like Prima Pils from Victory. Not up to that standard, but close.
