Kona Longboard Island Lager

Appearance: straw clear, large head, and a little lacing.

Smell: honey sweetness and grainy hops.

Taste: biscuity malts, grain, and faint honey sweetness.

Mouthfeel: medium-light.

Overall:
This is a decent lager and can be easily drank in large quantities. The flavor body is not rich and seems to dissipate quickly.

A: Clear and amber in color with a 1/2 finger tan head. Looks pretty decent.

S: Some sweet grain and a bit of bready malts with a hint of floral hops in the background.

T: Sweet honey malt and some graininess right away with a touch of bready malt and some faint grassy hops. Actually not a bad lager.

Serving type: on-tap

Golden and super clear. Champagne-like bubbles rising to the top to form a tightly packed, one-inch, white head. The head has no staying power and there is no lacing whatsoever.

Pear, straw, grain and a doughy aroma.

Pale malt flavors of biscuit and grass. A peppery spiciness and light fruit toward the end. A very good, very drinkable beer.

Seen this beer on the shelves for a long time never got it. Tried it on tap at Beach Hut Deli and was pleasantly surprised. Decided to pick up a 6 pack at the local Liquor store. This stuff is available everywhere in Sac town.

Pours a medium yellow hazy color. Looks like a hefeweizen more than anything. Head dissapates quick, good lacing though.

Taste is very subtle but sweet. I don't get an overwhelming taste in either direction for most of the way through. It does have a nice lemon zest on the finish, though.

Good carbonation and easy drinking in this lager. Overall this beer really reminds me of Great White but with less orange flavor. I would definetly buy again and is really easy to drink without complaint of being too watery.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Color was pale golden, very clear. Small amount of head, maybe ½ inches that dissipated quickly. Minimal lacing on the top. Small amount of film on the sides.

Typical smell of lagers but always weak to me. Adjusted with the 3.0 rating. Cereal, bread and corn malts. Grassy and grainy, too.

Tasted pretty similar to the smell. Corn and roasty malts led the way. Cereal malts, too.

Light body. Thin texture. Lively (moderate) carbonation.

This beer was a bit disappointing after having the Kona Pale Ale. Lagers are hit and miss with me and this was a miss.
