This is marketed as "The Gold of the Incas". My flight on TACA Airlines (São Paulo to Lima) offered this beer on the flight, and it was free. The can felt cool, but not cold, perhaps at 45-50 F. On to the beer:
The marketing is correct, it's a beautiful gold color with a big, fluffy, froathy head with great retention. The aroma is somewhat steely with sweetish corn notes and malt. The taste is more malty and corny, and damn, the flavor sure is nice. It reminds me more of a Munich lager than anythin else with a sweet pale malt flavor, but with a pinch of corn. Faint grassy notes. It has more body than the usual fizzy lager, and more enjoyable overall.
A nation's #1 selling lager beer is usually something underwhelming and offensive in some way. Not the case with Cusqueña. I enjoyed this beer, and I should have asked for another one on my flight. I might buy a little of this in the future.

This is actually a pure malt beer, not an adjunct Lager.
Golden color with a thin head with short retention.
Light aroma of sweet pale malt and some herbal hops.
Likewise, flavor of sweet malt, minerals and herbal hops. Not much more in here, but also no off-flavors. Mildly dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light bordering watery body with good carbonation.
Very clean and mild taste, good session summer beer.

Let me just say right off that I did not enjoy this beer at all. A one mm head and orange amber color. Smells a little malty and not much else. No mouthfeel at all. Tastes like water with a little carbonation. No body, substance or mouthfeel at all. The only thing I like was the bottle which has the Machu Picchu granite blocks on the bottle.
