Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours pale yellow, crystal clear, with a light soapy head of about 1/4" or so. Head dissipates very quickly to a thin film and there was very little lacing.

S: Smells a bit like a slightly maltier version of a typical American macro. Fairly balanced pale malts and light hops.

T&M: Light body and texture with a slightly malty edge over the hops, though I would still consider this to be moderately dry. The brew sits well on the tongue but tends to go a little watery at the finish leaving you with a thin bit of citrus hops that vanish quickly at the linger. Carbonation is a little lighter than you might expect, allowing for a texture that seems a little more refined than perhaps it really is.

D: Enjoyable and thirst quenching without being heavy. Light but still has some flavor. Not so much malt that it is sweet but enough to let you know that it's there. Not bad.

Pale gold. A deliberate pour yielded a creamy poufy head that laced very nicely. Somewhat fake aroma, gives impression of corn, syrup, extract. Like it's from a kit bought at Walmart. The beer actually tastes better than it smells; a very sweet, sugary malt profile coupled with wispy hops that are almost not even there. The taste is fake, but not unpleasant and certainly does not have that chemical sensation that so many cheap US beers have. Once you are accustomed to the "fake" taste (about half the glass) it becomes a very likeable, malty lager. Very mild, smooth mouthfeel, although maybe I coaxed the head too far during the pour. Like a budget helles with some corners cut, that packs a punch (6.2%). Without the hops, I might raise issue with it even being described as a pilsner, but now with the new BA style parameters set in place, that is an entirely different issue.

A pretty pale golden beer that has a sadly vanishing thin head. I expected very little from this beer, but was actually pleasantly surprised with the crisp, yeasty flavor.

Lots of carbination... it seems like it might be a nice brew served cold on a hot summer day.

Won't make my regular line-up, but since it's a cheap and widely available neighborhood staple here at the Northern tip of Brooklyn, I'm happy to report that Lomza rates slightly higher than most American macro-lagers.

The Wyborowe is an average German Lager that struggles for some identity to make it memorable.

A solid straw colored beer holds a firm white head that laces lightly and retains well. A standard look.

The beer gives a crisp malt flavor of crackers and pilsner grain. Acidity gives impressions of lemons, tart apples, and accents hop bitterness. Noble hop aroma and flavor works well to balance the beer and contribute complex spiciness, floral, and earthy notes along the way.

Crisp, clean, and refreshing. Sweet at first but the beer fades into a soothing dryness and light hop, acid, and astringent bite in the end.

A pretty average beer.

Half-liter brown bottle. Pours a slightly hazed pale straw color with no real head to speak of, dies as quickly as a macro. Bready, malty aromas, and a light alcohol-infused fruitiness. Malty, rich and strong with an extremely tamed bitterness in the finish from some low-alpha hops. Pretty boring but not bad. Needs a little more depth to be noteworthy. Carbonation is decent despite the lack of head on the initial pour. An average export-type lager, it has a "malt liquor light" kind of feel.

Presentation: Half litre brown glass bottle that looks just like BA Avatar, with the addition of a colorful green and yellow crown cap which has the words “Lomza, Jasne Ze Naszei”. Listed at 6.2% with no Freshness Date.

Appearance: Clear golden body. Soft dirty white head has good staying power, it drops to a finger thick cap but it does last the whole ride. Spritzy carbonation with a milky look when agitated. Minimal lacing.

Nose: Light sweaty bread nose, barely scrapes a clean feel but it doesn’t offend. Minimal odors.

Taste: Forced malts have a sweetness that feels a tad corny. Clean feel throughout but it has a definitive East European profile. Mild hops work extremely hard to fight past the sweet malts and soft doughy corn middle. Finishes with a little bit of everything but not much of anything.

Mouthfeel: Chilled it feels clean, short of crisp but as it warms it develops a delicate corn syrup softness in the back end.

Drinkability: Above average feel. I’m not sure I can say that this feels like it has the clicks that back up the 6.2%.

Overall: Not that bad actually, I confess that I expected much worse from this one. But it is a very average brew nonetheless.

The first Polish beer that has ever really impressed me. One of the best lagers I can think of. Plenty of body and flavor, but not overdone for a lager.

A little darker and heavier than most pale lagers. Good hop/malt balance. I have been looking for good lagers for a while. Found one.

Served in the 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. The color was golden, with a slight foamy head. The smell was pale malt sweetness. The taste was the light malt sweetness with a very slight mellow hop to it. Mouthfeel was average. As for drinkability, could have a couple.

As the Bros. say, when in Rome... Well, I was in a Polish restaurant/bar (hoping they'd have Okocim/Zywiec porter), so I decided to give this one a try. Not bad as far as it goes, and though it's not one I'd write home about, if someone gave me one, I'd have it again.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, beer is a pale golden color with tons of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass and has a two finger soapy looking white head. Smell is sweet of malt, almost no hop presence. Taste is not very good. I'm not sure if this bottle sat around too long, because there is no freshness date anywhere. Tastes like beer that sat in a paper cup for days, very bland and slightly metallic. The beer is light in body and has quite a bit of carbonation. Although not very tasty, it does go down pretty easy because of the light body. I would hope that a fresh bottle of this wouldn't be too bad.

hazy dirty gold color. rocky head and a fair bit of lace. an adjuncty aroma with the slightest hint of skunk. tastes really disappointing. sweet corn adjunt flavors dominate, reminding me of american malt liquors. dirty, earthy hops provide a good deal of finishing bitterness that lingers on the palate and scrubs away the sweetness. definite alcohol notes too. at 6.2 ABV, the polish equivalent of our infamous 40 ouncers; only this comes in the brown half-liter bottle. not all beers you try are winners! live and learn.
