12oz. bottle poured into a regular pint glass.
A - Dark amber. Aggressive pour yields a nice head that quickly falls but leaves a sticky lacing behind.
S - Kind of thin. Slightly fruity, light caramel. A bit disappointing.
T - Strong caramel and toasted malts with hints of vanilla and dark fruit. Not a great representation of this style, but not bad tasting by any means.
M - Thin and carbonated. Really weak for a scotch ale.
D - Easier to drink than most other scotch ales I've had. Although after a couple the taste really started to overwhelm me and had me reaching for a different style of beer for a pallet cleanser, (a porter in this case).

Served a deep amber color with a thick tan head that faded slowly to nice lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, some malt and bit of caramel sweetness. Seems to be just a hint of smoke hidden in the background. Taste follows the aroma with a mixture of the dark fruit and caramel sweetness. Has a nice mild bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body, smooth texture and nicely balanced. Easy drinker. Very nice offering for the style. having this in an Irish pub adds a bit to the character.
