Bright, lightly hazed copper body. Creamy white colored head pours 1 finger and melts to a small ring rather quick. Light carbonation and lacing.
Caramel malts hit the nose right away - the aroma could stand tall with some of the best Oktoberfest out there. Light citrus and spice and even lighter earthy hop aroma hides behind fresh-baked bread and a bit of a floral presence. This is not your typical pale ale.
Follows the nose nicely. Fantastic malt base gives off a nice, lightly roasted caramel taste. Hops are next to impossible to find, but a bit of pear and apple add a nice tang to it.
Smooth and easy to drink. Refreshing, light body with light -to-medium carbonation. Crisp, clean finish is a bit sweet.
This is definitely outside my definition of a pale ale, so rating it against the style is tricky for me. However, I love it - it's a fantastic beer that hits the spot regardless of the time of year. See it? Grab it!
