Poured from bottle to an imperial pint. Bottled 11/16/2011.
A: Deep, dark brown with mahogany hues around the edges of the glass when held up to light. Cocoa head that dissipates to a thin layer but sticks around and leaves nice lacing.
S: Espresso roast coffee beans dominate the nose, with hints of roasted barley and grassy hops. Very robust coffee aroma.
T: Espresso, plum and cherry notes, caramel, roasted barley, grassy hops.
M: Light-bodied stout that is a bit watery throughout. Quite a bit of carbonation on the back end leaves a tang on the tongue. Too watery for a stout in my opinion.
O: A solid coffee stout. A poor mouthfeel holds this one back from being something more.
