This pours quite dark, but not that coal-tar dark, it is a bit lighter than that. I slow pour, but it had a ring of carmel colored foam around the edge that laced slightly.
Smell was french roast coffee, and a hint of malt.
Taste is heavy in malt, the coffee flavor comes through clear. There is little hop balance, though, but somehow it works very well. So, it isn't that bitter.
It has a surprisingly creamy, maybe slightly thin mouthfeel, but good. Not English thin, but just not as heavy as other dark beers.
It is somewhat medium body - lighter than I would expect for a beer like this, but once again it works.
This is one strange but very good beer to try. I am enjoying it, will probably get a 6 of it if I can find it. It is quite drinkable. Note: My wife is NOT a beer drinker. Michelob ultra for her - she doesn't like the bitterness of most craft brews. She described this as "smooth", she actually had a second taste. And a third. It pairs well with dark chocolate!
So - give this a try regardless of what you are looking for in a beer - it is an interesting experience worth trying!

Thanks to Vancer for this one.
Pours a nice clean/clear dark brown color, nice carbonation, nice small one-finger plus creamy tannish head, lots of nice sticky lacing follows. The nose is of tons of roasted coffee malts. The finish is slightly dry. The taste is mostly roasted coffee malts. Medium body. Very drinkable, a nice coffee stout for sure.
