Poured into a Stange.
A: The pour and lingering appearance makes this beer come across as a vibrant and interesting lager. Clear, pale yellow body is crystal clear but full of carbonation. It leads up to a foamy and thick white head, that is slow to dissipate and leaves an intricate lacing. It's egalitarian in a way.
S: Overly ripe grapes and a bit of funk really hit the nose. It's not overwhelming, but it's just this side of unpleasant. Notes of yeast are subtle. Unfortunately, the grape malts and funk overpower any hop aroma I was hoping for.
T: A very dry taste with characteristics of orange, grass and lemon highlighting it. Grapes and funk also make their presence known. Slightly hoppy but still less so than I think is needed.
M: A very dry feel lingers at your throat the entire drink. The body is thin, carbonated and vibrant. This is very necessary for these tastes as it really enhances a mediocre beer into one that is very pleasant to drink.
O: A nice, egalitarian German style beer, but one that is too characterized by its funk and grape notes and not enough by its hops. The mouthfeel makes it worth the drink, making the Schlafly Kölsch a nice beer for a summer or fall afternoon.

12oz bottle in a pint glass.
Appearance: Pale, hazy golden color. Lingering white head.
Aroma: Slightly crisp, nothing strong.
Taste: Bitter, slightly metallic, zesty.
Mouthfeel: Medium light, and refreshing.
Overall: I'm not sure how it compares to a canonical kolsch but it is drinkable.
