I never even drank a pumpkin beer until someone told me "If you like pumpkin pie you would probably enjoy Schlafly Pumpkin Ale." That person is correct. Schlafly Pumpkin Ales is my favorite seasonal pumpkin/squash/yam beer.
The appearance is the only part I can take any points away from as it doesn't have much of a long lasting head or lacing to speak of after being poured.
The beer literally smells and tastes like pumpkin pie. I love pumpkin pie! It is pure goodness. The ladies, in StL at least, love this beer. A real seasonal crowd pleaser.

Had on-tap at the Schlafly release party at El Bait Shop.
Appearance- Light amber, almost no head.
Smell- Spices, nutmeg I'm particular. Pumpkin seeps its way through there as well.
Taste- I'm not usually a pumpkin ale guy but hats off to Schlafly on making one heck of a pumpkin ale. The nutmeg, cinnamon and other spices are blended really well with the pumpkin.
Overall- Most pumpkin ales teeter one way or the other but this one gets it right. Best balance I've had from one yet. I'd put it over ST Pumpking for sure. Just wish I was drinking this in October and not June.
