Had this one last night and didn't have a chance to comment until this morning.
This brew pours an awesome super dark brown- pretty much as dark as it can be if brown. Hints of red stream through if held up to the light. Small bubbles, but definitely right for a beer like this- shouldn't feel like champagne!
Aroma is wonderful!!! Bourbon notes hit you right away and are followed by vanilla, and dark cherry. There is also a hint of coffee in the background
Taste was really, really great. I cannot compare to other vintages, but if this exemplifies how well these beers can age, then I need to get a case. Bourbon character hits you right away, no question. Smooth as hell though- not a bit of alcohol flavor in the least. Very warming. Vanilla was my favorite flavor in this, but I couldn't stop tasting the toffee and caramel which was not a bad thing.
I enjoyed this beer with a cigar- if you have a bottle of 2008 and like stogies- make time with a friend and enjoy this combo.
I need to find more of this!

A-Pours dark brown with an almost oily texture as it drains from the bottle. Lacking any head.
S-Clearly smells oxidized. Hopefully it isn't too badly blown out. I get much more dark fruits than I was expecting. It smells very, very sweet. The bourbon has faded but it's still there.
T-Oxidization is a problem here but it hasn't ruined the beer. Aside from the oxidization, there is a tons of alcohol-soaked dark fruits and figs. Raisins, and booze-plums. Loads of molasses and an old coffee flavor. Softer whiskey flavor as well. Well integrated flavors.
M-Nearly cloying. Chewy sweetness. Could use a sip of water after some of this beer. Flat.
O-A bit too old. It's aged into a beer that isn't all too Stout-like in flavor. Aside from the Oxidization, I was impressed that the whiskey barrel flavor still stuck around rather well.
