Our Dry Hopped American Pale Ale (APA) is charged with American hops to create a bold, aromatic ale. Assertive hop flavor joins the pine/citrus aroma characteristic of American hops to balance the full body provided by North American malts. After fermentation, the beer circulates through a bed of Cascade and Chinook hops, boosting the distinctive hop aroma of this satisfying ale.

In the long view of the history of beer, American Pale Ale is a newcomer. Based on English Pale Ale, American brewers adapted this style into something new. Born out of the reverence English Pale Ales during the 1980’s American beer scene, APA is the bold, hoppier cousin of Pale Ale. With an emphasis on American hops, APA is gaining popularity with breweries racing to make these ales with such great hop characters.

On tap at Pazzo's (Lexington, KY)

Clear amber body with excellent clarity; decent white head leaves some spotty lacing.

Aroma: about as much sweet malts as hops. Fruity

Flavor: Some complexity from the hop mix. Biscuity malts in the background.

Feel: rather light bodied; near medium carbonation; smooth.

This is a solid American pale ale. It reminds me a lot of SNPA - there is a nice piney aroma and flavor with some citrus and moderate bitterness. A good beer but nothing I'll seek out again.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a sturdy crisp golden bronzed color with a slight transparency about it. Some carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. Some lace was seen strewn about after the head died off at a moderate pace.
The aroma had a nice blend of citrus to piney hops, bitter to sweet with a nice clean malt backbone.
The flavor was a pure blend of these aromatics roving nicely into a clean aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Hop bitterness wasn't distracting and carried enough leeway to compensate for a semi-smooth to dry sort of finish. Carbonation felt fine and so was the ABV.
Overall, pretty nice APA that I would have again.

Nice, flavorful pale, with strong hop notes on a highly drinkable base. The flavor is pine and citrus, and the close is pretty clean, all told. Tasty.

A slightly darker hue then amber and a smell you would not think great about but surprisingly hoppy pale ale that is perfect. Very similar to the local giant's pale ale. I wish I could drink this more often as it is quite pleasant. Enjoyed from a bottle that reads 10-28-14 20:53. This beer is certainly a equivalent to a session IPA. I have enjoyed this in the past before most of my reviews and the aged version is slightly better.

Aged beer at my house is in a cooler in my basement mean temp 62 degrees.
