'Bottled with Love' on 2-18-2011.
Pour a clean, dark black with ruby red highlights when viewed in direct lighting. 1 1/2 inch tan head hangs around through my first few sips, then dissapates to a thin layer and ring with superb lacing.
Smells lightly of caramel sweets, nothing more.
Tastes very smooth with a perfect mixture of bitter and sweet as the raosted barley and oats battle for control. Very drinkable, very clean. Aftertaste is bitter....but good.
For a stout, this feels not as hearty as some others Ive tried and the carbonation is a little too crisp for my taste, but it is smooth.
Overall, this is a pretty good oatmeal stout. Nice balance, good flavor, good feel. I recommend it.

Enjoyed at the St. Louis airport, the beer was on par with most oatmeal stouts. Nice body in the glass with the usual full aroma. The beer held up well in the mouth and had some depth and body to it. Nothing special in the taste that makes it stand out against other stouts though.

Pours a dark brown color with a short dense khaki head that settles into a light ring.
The aroma is a tad grainy with a subtle roast note. Perhaps some light chocolate notes. The aroma is quite subdued.
The taste is of a smooth roasted malt. Nice milk chocolate notes. Much better than the aroma. Slight hints of char. Light ground coffee notes come through towards the end. A bit of a raisin sweetness plus some caramel.
The feel is moderate with prickly carbonation. Not as smooth as some other oatmeal stouts. Nice balance between sweet and roasted bitterness.
A good but not great oatmeal stout. Nice flavor but misses a tad on the feel and aroma.
