Bottle: Poured a black color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of rich roasted malt notes with a side of black chocolates. Taste is also dominated by some roasted malt with a side of black chocolate. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Not the most complex beer but well enjoyable with good balance between the flavours and good drinkability.

Re-review. 12 oz bottle into a Chimay goblet.
A: Pours a very dark ruby color. There's a finger worth of off-white head; retention isn't the best, although it leaves a little bit of lacing behind. Nothing too remarkable aesthetically here - it looks more like a porter than a stout.
S: This is pretty well roasted, but also does a great job of bringing a noticeable aroma of oats. There are also touches of herbal hops, chocolate, and smoke. This doesn't have an amazing nose, but it's still pretty decent.
T: Call me crazy, but this seems ridiculously smoky to me - almost like a rauchbier, in fact. When combined with the faint oat flavor on the front end, it's ridiculously redolent of ham. This goes away around the midtaste, being replaced with roasted coffee beans and some slight chocolate. When it warms up, the finish becomes hoppy, even. Cut out the weirdly unbalanced ham flavors, and this is a good stout.
M: I tend to prefer the drier oatmeal stouts over the more lingering ones, and this fits into the former nicely. There is a slight linger on the back end, though. The carbonation is on the moderate-to-high side, which helps give it some drinkability.
O: I must finally be going over the deep end, because this is FAR smokier than I remember. That's not a bad thing - I like Schlenkerla's rauchbiers and I like some good BBQ pulled pork (oddly enough, the only instance I enjoy pork products), but this beer is striking my palate too strangely to be a great oatmeal stout. As a result, it's hard for me to return to this one again.
