Enjoyed on-tap @ The Schlafly Tap Room in St. Louis, MO for $4.50. Tapped from the Black/Stainless Steel Tap Handle into a 16oz Hefeweizen Glass.
Aroma- The aroma is sweet and yet dry-hopped at the same time. Very nice german malts seemed included and a "clean" lager background.
Appearance- Received with a 2.5 finger head that is frothy and stays forever! Has a copper colored body and has great clarity behind it. Leaves thick lacing behind.
Flavor- Has a sweet beginning taste and almost a hint of toastiness. Not much hop flavor but notice its around in the background. Light-Medium Bitterness with a moderately dry finish.
Mouthfeel- Light-Medium Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Smooth, and very lager like.
Overall Impression- A very nice marzen with bit of dry hopping in the nose. The flavor wasn't too filled but didn't really want this anyway. There was no cloying and I did appreciate this! I hate when this style gets ruined. Would definitely go back to again on a different day to enjoy as my first beer.
