A- Pours a hazy yellow, which I absolutely love. A finger of white head recedes to a halo of white around the glass that persists throughout. This leaves some nice lacing on the glass.
S- Yeast dominates the smell on this one. It is backed up by some citrus hops, and maybe a bit of "barnyard" smell (hay, barn, grains). This may be off-putting to some.
T- Nice and lemony, very refreshing. The yeast makes an appearance early and really lingers throughout the drink. There is some spice in there from the hops and/or the wheat. It imparts a peppery effect. I get a lingering after-taste from the grain that is not unpleasant. Reminds me of toffee or a light salted caramel.
M- This one is highly carbonated and crisp, which I like in a beer that is obviously made with late spring/summer in mind.
O- Solid offering from Schlafly, and my first foray into a wheat beer that features the hops. I'm a big fan of this one, particularly on a hot, humid, sticky summer day in St. Louis.

Middle of the road as far as taste, but worth a try. I got it past dated so maybe it would taste better if it were more on the fresh side. Still, it had an interesting flavor.

Now labeled as Schlafly Hoppy Wheat. Big fluffy head and thick lacing. There's a pleasant, clean toasty, doughy bread character under a juicy, pineapple and tangerine hops character. Fun and very drinkable. Go buy a six-pack.

Very nice looking with a HUGE white head and lots of lacing. Light, crisp and to the point, it's a wheat ale you can't go wrong with. Nothing extraordinary, but very drinkable.

DATE: October 29, 2016... OCCASION: an enjoyable Saturday night... GLASSWARE: Rare Vos narrow pint... a thick, hazy, dimly-lit, golden-hued body that defies a vision of my fingers... little to speak of, in terms of its effervescence... the head is fluffy, thick and resilient.... tracings are like pyro flames... surprisingly pungent grapefruit, dank earthy hops, and lemony zest... sips swiftly, with a light-bodied, flattened presence on the tongue... slightly active on the teeth, suggesting some hops... easily drinkable... a screen of white coats the glass as it drains... grapefruit, apple, lemon and other fruits fill out the profile... no malt presence... a serviceable Schlafly product, thirst-quenching while providing some flavor...
