Our Tasmanian IPA is brewed with 100% Australian hops. The Tasmanian hop, Galaxy, is a strong, aromatic variety that is different from traditional strains of the Pacific Northwest. Our brewers developed a recipe that showcases the hop’s unique flavors of citrus and pineapple.

India Pale Ales (IPAs) were first brewed in England during the late 1700s for export overseas to British soldiers in India. To keep their beer from spoiling during the long voyage, English brewers fortified their traditional pale ale recipes with natural preservatives: more malted barley, for a higher alcohol content, and more hops. In recent decades, with growing appreciation for highly hopped beers, American craft brewers have revived the style, embraced it, and incorporated new hop varieties. Our Special Release IPAs further those traditions and showcase the distinctions of hops from different hemispheres.

Rich, golden color with a wispy head that quickly abates. Lots of very active tiny bubbles, but the feel isn’t overly carbonated. Smells of flowers and fruit. First sip seemed tangy and like so many other IPAs I’ve had, but with each sip the tanginess subsided into a full-bodied, smooth feel. After taste is quite unique - I think I like Australian hops. Overall a fine IPA that might pair well with a BLT, a burger and fries, or another Tasmanian IPA.

I have been drinking beer for over 40 years and this is one of the best I have ever had. The hops and malt are balanced perfectly. The mouthfeel is absolutely creamy. There is no alcohol bite whatsoever. My batch, which was canned in January, tastes about perfect in the first days of June.

Slightly hazy straw yellow color with a moderate but lasting off white head and plenty of nice lacing.
The aroma is pineapple and light caramel malt with a touch of citrus.
The taste is sweet light malt, pineapple, plum, grapefruit with a touch of tangerine and lime, moderate bitterness, very flavorful.
The body is medium, good carbonation, very drinkable.
Altogether, this is an outstanding IPA, not quite New England or West Coast, or even in between, this is unique, tasty, refreshing and very enjoyable, I think I need more.

Wow, an actual WOW beer, so hard to find these days ... Wanted to try when first saw at my local supermarket, but I'm not paying $16.59 for an barely 7% ABV, unknown, likely to be the hated, NEIPA style. But there always is exceptions, and as beer 7 last one in the cooler now, even with an can date of 01/07/22 I'll try. Look? Meh. Aroma? Not much. Taste is good, Citrus on top of what must be an particularly good malt background, to be this good at a full 7 months old. i always say, but they rarely do, an good IPA should last longer than 30 days. Mouthfeel substantial, very chewy, smooth and overall, outstanding. Would I like to try fresh? Of course, but it's likely I wouldn't have enjoyed this as much.

Not a fan of Schlafly beers, but this one stands out. Not quite piney enough for an AIPA, not quite hazy and juicy enough for a NEIPA, just sits somewhere right in the middle. It's a go to for me while it's in season.

Appearance" Cloudy amber-gold, medium size head, good lacing:
Aroma: Tropical fruits pop out. A hint of peach shows up. Citrus in the background.
Taste: Stays fruity with no sharp edges. Lingering aftertaste. Slightly soapy.
Mouthfeel: Moderately carbonated, medium bodied, modest bitterness.
Overall" Need to give it a little time to develop. It will be worth it.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is gold, murky hazy straw, head is off white with fine to small bubble, head presented 1+ finger thick, then dissipating to thin solid top with lacing on the glass sides.

Smell is more subdued galaxy hop notes of citrus and tropical fruits, light malt and biscuit, some toast.

Taste is similar with a subdued galaxy hop profile of citrus and mixed tropical fruit, light malt notes of biscuit and toast, some candied fruit.

Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness.

Overall a brew that comes together as an entire IPA as it splits the NE/Hazy-AIPA profiles.

Barely hazy gold, big creamy white head, awesome retention and lacing
Super tropical aromas of mango, pineapple, passionfruit, with a touch of pine
Tastes like it smells with a slightly sweet and bready malt, lingering bitter finish
Filling but light, appropriate carbonation
Pretty awesome
