Minimal head on a cloudy burnt orange with a golden hue when held up to the light. Aroma is as advertised with excellent scotch malt presence which warms the nostrils with additional notes of candied fruits, oak and excellent caramel note. Flavors are actually much more subdued than the aroma would foreshadow. Although the somewhat sharp, scotch notes are evident, there is a balance if sweetness with mostly yellow apple, caramel, oak, resins and bready malts. A bit watery with a semi dry finish and light carbonation. The alcohol is strong here but you actually get used to it quickly and it's not overbearing. This is definitely worth trying for its uniqueness but I would split the bottle with someone.

A big beer, the whiskey from the barrels dominates the malt. Definitely worth a taste, although it would be markedly better using older, aged Scotch barrels to produce a more mellowed taste profile. The nose is probably the best aspect of this beer.
