Very dark hue displays an opal blackness with a lightly creamy and slightly thick head.

The aroma is all milk chocolate, full and thick with tinges of roast.

This drinks like a glass of chocolate milk, thick and creamy, with a full on syrup sweetness and full on chocolate flavor. This reminds me of Southern Tiers Chokolat, which was once a Top 250.

The feel is creamy and thick but as it ends it does get a tad thin so it loses a quarter point.

I absolutely love this. It has all the flavor of a dessert with the drinkability of an anytime beer.

I've never seen this at Schlafly before, since I'm the first to review I wonder if it's a first time?

Pours a rich dark as night color with a thick creamy 1.5 finger head.

The smell is entirely chocolate milk... Like nesquik to me!!
I do get a little roasted malts and a bit of sweetness on there as well.

Wow, tastes like semi-sweet chocolate!! Very luxurious and rich mouthfeel.
A little espresso bitterness on the finish!

I just loved this, I hope they make more of this as it's very tasty! I'm taking a growler home as well!

Go, have a pint or two!! Delicious!!!

Entering the war for "most chocolaty beer ever," Schlafly debuts not the expected high gravity, dark chocolate type of taste but instead a softer milk chocolate flavor profile upon the smooth and reasonable strength.

Its pour sheds light on its cocoa underpinnings as its hue is reminiscent of dark chocolate. Its heady froth caps the stout with notions of whipped cream. Though fast-fleeting in its retention and lace, the cocoa oils get the better of the beer quite quickly.

"Where's the stout?" says the nose as nothing stout-like is readily apparent as chocolate flavor takes full command. A tad stronger than milk chocolate, slim hints of coffee, nuttiness and toast offer backup support but no more than certain versions of chocolate do anyway.

And to taste, its dense chocolate taste is like alcoholic Yoohoo. Its saccharine sweetness weaves into a kiss of vanilla and heavy whipping cream to mimic the taste of milk. But its bittersweet chocolaty middle is like candy bar before its finish is slightly coffee-bitter

Its interesting mouthfeel is creamy, velvety and silky smooth to start but as its carbonation and early sweetness fades, its middle is powdery and somewhat chalky as if residue from cocoa is left behind on the tongue. Its mild warmth brings the palate back to beer as a long linger of cocoa is just ahead.

Its easy to buy into the stout- hook, line and sinker as it's easy to forget that there's supposed to be a beer in here. Its seductive taste, however, hardly resembles stout at all.

Pours a deep brown with amber red highlights and a frothy half inch cappuccino head that dissipates slowly, leaving thick foam sheets of lacing.

Mocha dominates the aroma, with a touch of a vegetal character thrown in, which, when combined with booze, reminds me of tequila. Coffee and roast malt are somewhat secondary.

Flavor reveals a backdrop of sweet, low quality chocolate, which becomes slightly roasted and bitter at the finish. Espresso notes round out the profile. Dark cherry subtlety emerges late.

Body is moderate, with carbonation a touch low, and a hint of acrid character.

Initially reminds me of M&Ms. Fairly sweet, but with enough bitterness and roast malt at the finish to prevent it from being cloying. Definitely a dessert/guilty pleasure brew. Somewhat one note, but I like the note.

Growler purchased at The Tap Room. Dark brown with a very minimal tan head than faded quickly. Aroma is exactly what you'd expect-milk chocolate. Tastes like it smells. Big flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla, subtle roasted malt. Creamy mouthfeel with a sweet finish. My wife is a chocoholic and she loved this. Delicious.
