Notes/Commercial Description:
Our IPA is a session IPA, a smooth golden ale packed with the bold flavor and aroma of American hops. We crafted it in the spirit of the low gravity IPAs common in the UK where the style stands for hoppy, not heavy.

India Pale Ales (IPAs) were first brewed in England during the late 1700s for export overseas to British soldiers in India. To keep their beer from spoiling during the long voyage, English brewers fortified their traditional pale ale recipes with hops as a natural preservative. Today, the term IPA is used for many full flavored beers along a wide array of recipes.

This is my first review of a Schlafly, had this at mellow mushroom poured out of the can into a pint glass. Pale golden color, not really what you'd expect from an IPA, even a session. Mild hop and lemon flavors, smooth and drinkable, I had it at night but it'd be great if you were looking for some hops that you could day drink. It's not the best session IPA I've had, this genre can be tough to pull off, but it's still very good. Pick some up.

A: crystal clear; burnt orange in color; 1.5 finger white head that receded to a thin film; light lacing;

S: fresh mowed grass; pine, and a bit of tropical fruit;

T: caramel malt with dank pine; low to moderated citrus rind bitterness from mid-palate through the finish;

M: a little thin; moderate carbonation;

O: I wish there was more hop flavor, but still this is one of the better session IPAs I've had;

My sister brought this back from St. Louis

Clear gold with a thin head. Smells like lemon and grassy hop but that fades quickly and leaves a bland golden ale pale malt eh in its wake. Taste is a again initially lemongrass hops but once that fades the mildly caramel malt and and subtle bitter in back give an expired apple juice impression. Kinda bubbly.

30 ibus will stretch only so far. Well thanks for thinking of me sis just the same.

A: Pours a clear gold with a creamy, thin whitish head.

S: Aromas of sweet orange, cream, biscuit, crackers, lemon, lime, pine, and herbs are present on the nose.

T: Notes of cream, biscuits, crackers, caramel, herbs, pine, sweet orange, lemon, and lime wash across the palate. The finish is clipped and somewhat sweet with pronounced notes of cream, orange, and biscuit.

M: Light-to-medium in body and slick. Carbonation is crisp, yet gentle. A little heavier than I would normally expect a session ale to be.

O: A solid session ale to be sure, but really nothing out of the ordinary. Compared to many of the session IPAs on the market, this one is a bit sweet for my taste, though, overall, one could do far, far worse.

A: Pours a clear medium golden yellow in color with light to moderate amounts of fine carbonation that moves very slowly from the bottom of the glass (almost looking like they are in suspension) and faint hints of honey colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy light beige head that reduces to a large patch of very thin film with a couple of small slightly thicker patches of film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light aromas of very lightly toasted biscuit malts underneath a light to moderate aroma of citrus/grapefruit pith and herbal hops.

T: Upfront there is a light flavor of slightly sweet grainy and toasted biscuit malts. That is followed by moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith and herbal hops. Light amounts of bitterness in the finish.

M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin. Hints of dryness in the finish.

O: Definitely sessionable as the body is very light as is the aroma and taste - I wish there was a little more to the aroma of this beer but it was easy to drink.
