The cans leave something to be desired - sickly blue/green doesn't communicate much.
Golden amber, with a bubbly head at the pour, a thin white layer shortly therafter.
Relatively muted pine, citrus and a very secondary maltiness.
Similar to the nose, with some of that same hoppiness and some spice up front and biscuity maltiness following through - a previous reviewer notes sage and onion, neither of which I would have come up with, but are both spot on. Tastes about like you'd guess that a 4.5% IPA would - a little punch, some trailing hops and malt.
Soft and dry on the tongue, a spark of carbonation punches the hops. Easy to drink, a nice beer for the early summer.

This is my first review of a Schlafly, had this at mellow mushroom poured out of the can into a pint glass. Pale golden color, not really what you'd expect from an IPA, even a session. Mild hop and lemon flavors, smooth and drinkable, I had it at night but it'd be great if you were looking for some hops that you could day drink. It's not the best session IPA I've had, this genre can be tough to pull off, but it's still very good. Pick some up.

A: crystal clear; burnt orange in color; 1.5 finger white head that receded to a thin film; light lacing;
S: fresh mowed grass; pine, and a bit of tropical fruit;
T: caramel malt with dank pine; low to moderated citrus rind bitterness from mid-palate through the finish;
M: a little thin; moderate carbonation;
O: I wish there was more hop flavor, but still this is one of the better session IPAs I've had;
