Poured into a snifter from the tap at the Taproom in Midtown.
Pours a pitch black liquid. Thick but not as viscous as other imperial stouts. Thin light cream head.
Aroma of slightly burnt malts. Def some vanilla sweetness in the aroma and some slight spice. Fresher notes of vanilla with some extract like sweetness.
Flavor starts off with nice roast, burnt and dark slightly sweet malts. Then there are notes of of fresh vanilla bean. Sweet and slightly spicy but not overwhelming at all. Then there isa slight extract like sweetness that pops up along with sine boozy heat and some molasses and slight burnt caramel notes. The 10% although not too intense can def be perceived. This is a sipper. Mouthfeel is lighter than I expected but still the flavor is rich and abv high.
Overal, an ok imperial stout. Im not that big of a fan of pure vanilla stouts but this one is ok with some more natural vanilla flavors as opposed to pure extract.
