Cool brewpub in an old industrial area just west of downtown. Large, expansive area, with billiard tables, 2 bar areas and a restaurant seating area.
RANT: Smoking is allowed at the bar still-when will the Neanderthal's shut this down?? I makes for an unpleasant eating and drinking experience with smoke getting blown in your face.
I sat at the bar-the bartender remembered me from previous visits months ago-nice touch. A decent selection of 8-10 beers with the usual styles and some nice add-ons like coffee stout and dubblebock. The beers are usually good-to-very good, with some unique finds once-in-a-while (biere de garde late last year). You can buy beer for take out and they usually have some 750's seasonals for sale also.
The food is solid and there a some atypical plates such as cheese platters and some german style cooking.
Overall a must stop for me when I'm in Saint Louis. Very close to the Courtyard which makes driving here (I would not walk here as the neighborhood is a bit shady) easy.
