Poured from a 500mL bottle into a Unibroue tulip.

Slightly cloudy orange/brown liquid with an active off-white head that dissipates quickly to a fragile but lasting collar. Thin lacing, poor retention

Banana and allspice in the nose - heavier on the phenols as the fruit takes a back-seat.

Cocoa-dusted plantains on the palate with a hint of vanilla and coconut. Distinctive yeast character is offset by the clean malty base and a brief but moderate bitterness. Medium-finish is dried out by the perception of further peppercorn and clove notes.

Prickly yet flaccid mouth-feel.

A good, quietly unique variation on the standard weizen.

1 pint .9 oz bottle served into a half liter Kapuziner weiss glass, this pours a cloudy honey amber body with a large almond hued head. Good retention and lots of clingy patch lace on the glass. Aroma is mostly citrusy lemon and yeast, with notes of coriander and overripe banana in the background. Mouthfeel is creamy and well carbonated, with a solid medium body. Excellent mouthfeel for the style. Taste features bready sweet wheat, lemony citrus, understated spicy clove and coriander, overripe banana, and a strong yeast presence. Very tasty Hefe. A nice rendition of the classic German style that is very drinkable and refreshing.

Pours cloudy browish-peach, some yeasy sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Lifts a respectable white head, which settles to a ring and left a small bit of lacing. Bready, yeasty nose. Spicy and a bit tart, not the usual taste profile for a german wheat. Still a pleasant summer quaffer. Not up the world class standards of some of the other germans, but still worth a try.

For some reason, I love the cloudy appearance of this beer. A beautiful light copper color in appearance with a very nice head that really lingers. Fragrant, citrus-like aroma. Good mouthfeel and very tasty. This is a beer that is really easy to drink and I will definitely have to keep a bottle or two in the fridge.

Appearance: Cloudy orange godlden copper tone for the body with a very fluffy highly carbonated orange tinted cream hue for the head leaves speckled lacing not bad. Aroma: Some ripened apple notes along with the sharp spritzy malted wheat sweetness, very pleasant I am feeling a vibe with the apple note. Taste: Creamy sweetness very nice slight chalkiness blended with a suprising bitterness of hoppage not bad. Overall a bit bready but the sweet tones prevail making this a very flavorful Weiss, not bad at all. Mouthfeel: Creamy and high carbonation I like the combonation this wheat presents. Drinkability: I'm not too keen on this style of a weizen for pure drinkability but I do find it interesting.

11.2 oz bottle. Deep amber body with a durable, creamy head and excellent lacing. Flavorful, with moderate levels of banana and yeast/spice over a good wheat base.

An excellent weizen bier, nice flavour, smooth and well rounded, not as good as weihenstephaner, but still very nice.

This beer pours a dark orange colour into the glass, with a big white head. The head disappears quickly though. It has a malty smell, hints of banana aswell. Has a smooth taste of cloves bananas, malt. Smooth wheat taste in the aftertaste. Just a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. A very easy drinking weiss bier. But not the best i have had.

Light amber color, decent head, highly carbonated. Typical bannana/yeast smell and taste. For the most part, a typical good hefe. I used to buy this beer a few years ago, and I remember it being better. Somewhat lackluster now. It just didn't jump out at me. No complaints though. A good, standard hefe.

500ml bottle, BB March 2012, 5.2% ABV, and "Aus Bayreuth" instead of 'Original'. Not much difference, I know.

This beer pours an only slightly cloudy, medium golden amber hue, with a multitude of tightly foamy, puffy ecru head, which settles at pace to a low-slung whipped cream topping, eventually leaving some reaching arches of lace in select spots on the glass.

It smells of crisp wheat grain, banana, clove, a bit of citrus candy sweetness, and some soft yeast. Most of this carries forward to the flavour, with perhaps more emphasis on the sweet wheat grain notes, the fruit laying low, and taking the spice and yeast with it.

The bubbles lay quite low, providing just a little edge to an otherwise smooth, fairly solid medium weight body. It finishes off-dry, the sweet wheat, earthy yeast, and fleshy fruit rounding things out.

A pretty decent hefeweizen veritable, the real deal. Drinkable, especially for me, as the notable banana and yeast characteristics are kept in check, and that always works for me. Not that I don't like these inherent essences, but just not being inundated with them. Prost!

A cloudy, orange-amber body is capped by a full head of rocky white foam that slowly drops (no doubt buoyed by the teeming effervescence beneath) to a thin, creamy surface covering that holds throughout the entire glass but surprisingly leaves only spotty lace. The nose offers a light note of apple-like tartness, some soft vanilla and caramel, and a sprinkling of delicate spice. The body is light and it's crisp in the mouth with a very fine and effervescent, natural carbonation. The flavor reveals a wheatish malt that's nicely caramel-tinged with just the slightest touch of tartness and a sublime bitterness that acts only to balance. This weizen is more fruity and caramelish than the atypical banana-clove-phenolic Bavarian versions, and it makes a refreshing change of pace!

Pours a hazy orange-amber with an enormous foamy head. Nice, classic weissbier aroma of yeast, light malt, and light spices (allspice and clove). Light on the palate, with a hint of hops, some more light malt, and wonderful yeast. Body is kind of thin, even for a weiss. A nice, light, summery beer, almost perfect for an 80-degree night on the back porch.
