May 2010: 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy brownish golden colour, big and lasting white head. The usual n/a beer aroma of baby porridge, but also notes of malts, with some wheaty hints of cloves. Soft mouthfeel, light bodied but tolerably refreshing when cold. The flavour has again notes of baby porridge, also over-boiled vegetables and dusty malts. A slight citrussy acidity. Minimal hops, bland finish.

Shockingly good for what it is, like all NA beers it is lacking compared to the real thing, but the NA wheat beers always do a massively better job than others of emulating real beer and this one is among the best. It a almost brought my pregnant wife to tears of joy to taste this after six months of no beer!

500ml bottle poured into tulip 24/3/15
A murky dark orange, big three finger foam has great retention slowly ending up as a pencil top eraser island, lots of random lace deep down the glass, looks like a hefe all right
S a little clove and banana chips, lots of dry grains, a hint of bubblegum, not far off the style minus the booze
T lots of cereals, not the yeast you would expect from a hefe a little sweet but I`m guessing the lack of yeast isn't turning those sugars to booze
M medium bodied but rather foamy, a little spice lingers
O I`m not in love but its decent for alcohol free, nothing offensive and has some hefe qualities
I can`t have alcohol at the moment and this might quench my thirst every now and then until I can have a real beer, better then expected
