Pours clear orange, foamy two finger head with nice retention.
Typical hoppy smell (peach, citrus, pine), a bit sweet, some nice caramel and grainy biscuits.
Taste starts with soft sweet citrus (honey tangerine, sweet orange juice) and also some peach and apricot. Green notes start to show up, from light leafiness (plus some grapefruit peel) to some strong pine and hop oils later on. Malts are present just as a light biscuity blanket on which the hops dance around, but it sure helps glue things together with a bit of extra sweetness. Bitter finish, not a wrecker, leaving some fruitiness to the aftertaste.
Medium, a bit oily, body, low to medium carbonation. Not one to gulp down when you're thirsty.
Still tasty enough to drink at a slower pace. Quite enjoyable, nice balance.

Has an orange, amber color, with a decent froth crown.

Aromas contains a fruity hop nose, with mango and kiwi, and also points in a floral direction at the same time.

Has a toasty malty beginning, which soon gets washed away as the tastebuds get hit by a surpringly intense hop bitterness. Floral hop notes get wrapped up by wooden, piny malts, which results in a very smooth mouthfeel with a dry aftertaste. This actually breaks with the habit that german IPAs tend to be lovely, and more on the sweeter side, as this ale is uncomprimising bitter and hop-driven. Malts tend to evolve in a slick molasse direction, while the focus is thoughout on the hops. Long, bitter finish.
