Big Daddy's is not recommended as a beer shopping destination in Lexington.

Big Daddy Liquors is a college stop-over liquor-beer store that is located in the University Plaza shopping strip at the intersection of Woodland Ave. and Euclid Ave.

Though the store's focus is on liquors, they have a nice, albeit slight, selection of craft beers in the back of the store. Some of their better brands include Stone, Dogfish Head, Rogue, Bells, Great Lakes, Goose Island and Bluegrass Brewing. They run about 25 craft beer brands (micros and imports) and all of the typical industrial beers. The store doesn't allow single bottle sales, but do have a decent assortment of 750mil. bottles. They keep about half of their beers on the shelves and half in the refrigerated coolers in the back.

The store is quite average in cleanliness, lighting, and overall intrique. It is situated on the end of the neglected shopping strip, right next to Lygnah's Pub. Parking is not a problem as they have spaces available three feet from the door. Prices seem pretty reasonable and similar to those at other local areas stores.

Overall, this is not a store worth going out of the way to visit, however if you are at Lygnah's and need to take a six-pack home, then a pit-stop may be in order. (1,384 characters)

Been in here quite a few times as my friend lives right down the road and works at the bar next door. This store is not really very impressive, but they do have some nice picks from the likes of Stone and Dogfish Head. And I actually picked up a couple of bottles of Delirium Tremens last time I was there. Overall not that great and the employees didn't seem to care whether I was there or not. If you want good selection, take the time and go to Liquor Barn. (What everyone from the Lex says!) But, if you find yourself in Lynaugh's and a little drunk and in need of something, walk next door and grab a 90 minute IPA or two. (627 characters)

Just a few blocks from my place. It's mostly a liquor store and malt liquor-style beer. But they do have a few surprises. They carry a nice inventory of Sierra Nevada and a couple Bell's products, but there really isn't anything here that would excite a BA or any sort of beer conneseur. It seems mostly like the place you go to get your cheap vodka/whiskey/beast lite. Avoid this place and head out to Liquor Barn. Totally not impressed with this place. Even though it's really close, I'll always be making the longer drive out to get better brews. (549 characters)

A good selection of American craft brews make this a decent stop in the Lexington area. Located in a small strip shopping center, the parking lot is small and could easily fill, still it is convenient and appreciated. There are some very nice beers here, the likes of Two Hearted from Bells being an example.
Some singles readily available and it looks like breaking packs is not encouraged. The stock seems to be about equally split between refrigerated and floor storage. A bit crowded and small. No obvious helpfulness noted here, yet the check out is easy when its not crowded. (583 characters)
