Served as part of a tasting flight.

The beer is a light amber to golden, on the lighter end of what I expected. The nose has light toast, biscuit, and a very mild hop presence.

I taste citrus and sweet malt up front. The sweetness is pleasant, not cloying, and well balanced though the hop presence is fairly mild. Damn good for a twelve dollar growler.

Middling ABV, between 5-6%, and designed to be sessionable.

From a 1 month old growler

A: Attractive reddish amber with marked clarity. Ample head which dissipates fairly quickly with nice lacing.

S: Piney, malty, with medium citrus hints.

T: Malt nut and hops. This is not a great brew, but a very good one. Extremely well balanced...I wish that I could get it bottled, and not have to rely on growler fills at $20 ($12 refills)

M: Balanced...what can I say...this is as good as they come. Not too much carbonation...a bit slick, yet clean finish.

D: A sessioner if there ever was one. This one is brewed for the long haul. I really like it alot.

Long Valley- German Valley Amber

Appearance- Light copper with no very little head.
Smell- Sweet grainy malt. Sunflour seeds and corn.
Taste- Sweet polenta flavored malt with hints of sunflour seeds.
Mouthfeel- Sweet without the malt and slight dryness.

Overall- An average Amber. It was drinkable but easily forgettable.

Poured from growler that friends brought back.
Poured orangish amber with a thin white head that left some lacing.
The smell was on thin side, but what was there wasn't bad at all - sweet malt on a slightly hoppy background.
The taste was of sweet malt balanced by a hoppy bitterness. Well-balanced, though a bit watery.
A little too watery, but not bad. The flavors stick around, though there is a slight plastic aftertaste. It's fairly smooth.
Flavors are well-balanced, but could be a touch stronger. It's a bit better than when I had it on tap a few months ago. A decent brew overall.

Pours a lightly red tinted and lightly hazed amber color, solid slightly off white head. Scent brings notes of presh grain, light caramel malt and attractive bouquet of grassy and earthy hops with a touch of citrus. Taste follows suit, light taste but fresh. Lighter side of medium, slightly thin. Good fresh flavor, crisp and clean.

Amber/orange in color with a 1" head that produced some light lacing. The aroma was nice for an amber as malt and some mild floral tones were easily detectable. The flavor was super as the malt was tamed with just the right amount of light floral hoppiness.

The mouthfeel was smooth. Slight malt / floral aftertaste, but only for a second or two. Extremely drinkable as this has great flavor for an amber style and you will not get bored with this at all.

A nearly clear amber beer with a decent cap of foam. Retention and lacing are fair. The nose isn't particularly vivid; just some generically sweet malt and a trace of floral hoppiness.

Like most of Long Valley's beers this one was a little thin and bland. There's caramel malt sweetness and very vague floral and citrus hop notes. Low bitterness, semi-dry finish. But it's dissapointingly uninteresting, and I thought this was one of their better beers.

Medium to a little thin in body with somewhat lowish carbonation. There's a slight smoothness to the mouthfeel that's nice enough.

Completely clear reddish amber ale with sizable head that was capable of leaving some pretty lace. Nutty, toasty aroma was duplicated in the taste. The nuttiness reminded me of the flavor of sunflower seeds. Also, there was a pale malt presence throughout the beer which almost seemed out of place when appearing along side of the roasted malt additions. A little caramel flavor would have been perfect. Restrained bitterness which lingers only ever so lightly. Another good session beer from Long Valley.

Copper amber-ish color. Head looks frothy. Looks decently carbonated. Looks good. Nice lacing on the glass.

Not much of a smell. My girlfriend claims she smelled cherry.

Citrus, crisp and then a nice bitterness at the end, almost metallic but I like the taste...quite refreshing. Towards the end of the glass there was a somewhat caramel and toffee flavor as it warmed.

Mouth feel is average to good. Certainly not bad. Medium carbonation. Light in body. Easy going down.

I could have a few of these. Nice tasting, refreshing, easy to go down.
