Highlights from last visit (December 08, 2009):
Bottles:
Left Hand, Fade to Black
Sam Adams, Double Bock
Ommegang, Hennepin
Ommegang, Three Philosophers '09
A quaint, but solid beer-liquor-wine store located between the UK campus and the up-scale Chevy Chase neighborhood. The store does a good job catering to students and family types.
Although the store has a better variety of wines and spirits, the beer selection is very craft worthy with solid offerings from Stone, Rogue, Great Divide, Avery, Chimay, Rochefort, Abita, Breckenridge, Bells, Avery, a lot of European Imports... generally the standard stuff that's available at Liquor Barn and throughout Lexington, just not in size, scale, or capacity. The store has recently expanded their beer shelving to about 5, encompasing about 1/4 of the store.
This store is a subsidary of Liquor Barn, just smaller and not as equipped. They do have a refrigerated section with their most popular sellers always stocked. Unlike Liquor barn, they won't allow single bottle sales. Good news, you can count on the beers to always be fresh and within the recomended dates by the brewery.
The few times that I have talked with the staff about beer hasn't fared well... they just don't know their craft beers like other beer retailers in Lexington do.
Located near the corner of Euclid Avenue and High Street/Tates Creek Road, parking is easity available on site. If you are in the area and don't feel like driving the the Liquor Barn (Richmond Road) location, then this store is servicable in a pinch. Out of town-ers looking to stock up should go to one of the Liquor Barn locations instead of Shopper's Village.
While in the area, journey about 1/2 mile down Euclid toward Campus and hit Lyghna's, Pazzo's, or Mellow Mushroom for a pint or two.

Just dropped in here while looking for a Stone Vertical Epic 04.04.04 anywhere in Lexington anymore. They had it, along with a nice selection of beers from around the world. This store is just off campus here in Lexington, so there is a bias towards BMC, but they also have Dogfish, Stone, Avery and many more great craft breweries. Their selection of imports is just okay, and you can't break any 6-packs. The service here is all but non-existant. The only interaction you get is when you check out. This place will work in a pinch, but I'd go to liquor barn over this one any day.
Edit: I've been back here a few more times. I was able to chat with one of the beer guys about the possibility of getting some new and interesting beers in, and he was very receptive. Bump that service up a bit! If they would start splitting 6 packs, it would be a lot easier for me to give them my business. They still have a few things that you can't find anywhere else in town, but I have a feeling that is because those beers are old and moved off the shelves elsewhere.

A huge variety of the American craft brew industry is represented in this very nice store. There are a few dedicated parking spots in the off-street parking lot, but I doubt that they are enforced. The beer selection is quite good with a strong representation from both coasts. A fair amount of cooler space but most of the beer is in open room storage. A decent selection of singles, but mostly this beer in six packs. A pretty good selection of Belgian beer was also noted. Good checkout service.

Shopper's Village is a fairly small liquor shop near downtown. It is better kept than the shops around UK's campus, but it's nothing too wonderful. They have a moderate selection of alcohols, but their selection of beers is slightly above average. They have a great selection of micro brews, but they have an aisle where they have quite a few imports to choose from. Some of the beers they have here surprised me. It's no liquor barn or Jungle Jims, but it isn't bad.
EDIT: There is an American micro section that I didn't ever notice before. Been there 15 times and haven't seen it, but it is superb! They have stuff that I've not seen anywhere. All DFH, Anderson Valley, Rogue, Stone, and a lot of others whose names I can't remember. Very much worth a stop. Comparable to Liquor Barn for their selection, but ten times better considering the size of their beer area.
