Scream is probably my favorite New Glarus offering....overtaking Moon Man and Black Top. This is as solid IIPA that you can get. The beer poured a clear orangish color with white head that was leaving a lace. The scent carried fresh pine with orange peel like citrus. The taste was bitter through the drink but there was enough sweet malt to balance the beer. The bitterness carried pine and apricot like citrus with a touch of spice. The mouthfeel was medium to full in body with good carbonation. Overall...excellent.

12 oz bottle poured into a snifter.
9.5% ABV (roughly)
A - Clear and bright golden in color, Scream IIPA fills the snifter with a soaring off-white head that coats the glass in lace as it gently settles to the beer.
S - Packed with an incredible punch of tropical fruitiness, Scream IIPA rips into the nostrils with a hoppy bite that brings citrus and floral nuances along for the ride. Delectable Maris Otter English malts provide a smooth base with biscuity malt complexities worthy of diving into.
T - Bold hop fruitiness makes an immediate dive for the taste buds, swooping in with ripe balled melon and pinapple, bittered by a helping of grapefruit rind and lemon oil before making a shift to subtly caramelly sweet, biscuity English malts. Rich and ripe, Scream IIPA assaults the taste buds in the best way.
M - Maris Otter malts make for a beautifully smooth underlying sweetness that provides just enough balance to gently offset the abrasive hop bitterness and dryness that lingers on the tongue.
O - With subtle tweaks to their Thumbprint IIPA, New Glarus' Scream IIPA is elevated to soaring new double IPA heights with an absolutely impressive blend of citrus and tropical fruit with floral undertones that are all brought together by delicious English malts. Bright and dangerously drinkable, New Glarus has crafted another world-class beer!
