This pours a deep garnet color with light ruby tinting. It has a head of light pink tinted foam which is two-fingers thick and recedes to a nice surface covering of foam. Lacing is decent, but fairly slick.
The nose is all raspberry, as the name would suggest. A lot of sweet notes are here, but they are matched by a tart side, as well. A very slight hint of cranberries seems to be here, but that could just be the tartness of the raspberries also.
This almost total raspberry flavor. There is definitely a good tartness to it, yet it is not sour, like a lambic. It retains enough raspberry sweetness to give it a nice amount of balance. There is a very slight undertone of wheat/grain flavor.
The body of this is medium, almost verging on full. The carbonation level is effervescent, not unlike champagne. Very refreshing and lively. Nicely crisp.
At 4.00%abv, this one just begs to be drank in mass quantities. It is deliciously easy-to-drink also. The sweetness may be a touch too high for a lot of people though, so I can't quite give it perfect.
