Notes/Commercial Description:
Treat yourself to a rare delight. The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale.
Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

A. Muddy reddish brown appearance with a minimal off white head. Leaves a minimal amount of lacing.

S. Raspberries, brown sugar and baking spice jump out of the glass. Really nice.

T. Tart cherry and raspberry compote with hints of brown sugar and watermelon. Lively, crisp and very refreshing.

M. Light bodied with lively carbonation.

O. New Glarus knows how to brew fruit beers - period. This is an easy drinking, low alcohol beer that is perfect to have after a meal to share with friends.

750 ml bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. My third of the fruit beers from New Glarus Brewing Co. Expectations are exceptional based on my experience with the last two.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours a dark cranberry red colored body that hardly passes much light at all. About two fingers of pinkish-tan foam head that leaves some nice spindly lacing.

S - The smell is truly beautiful - the raspberries come through very pure, natural, and juicy. The oak barrel aging is also very apparent, maybe more so than with the others. Earthy, woodsy, creamy, maybe some perceived vanilla. Either way, the fruit juice is natural and beautiful.

T - The taste comes off the same - beautiful tart authentic raspberries dominate. The oak barrel aging is also apparent, again more so than with the others. Earthy & oaky. Light vanilla presence. Absolutely delicious.

M - Crisp & tart. Fruity & juicy. Absolutely delicious.

Overall, another wonderful fruit beer from New Glarus. These guys should definitely consider doing more of these beers with more varieties of berries. Blueberries, boysenberries, blackberries, etc. I could see any and all of them being as equally amazing as this.
