Notes/Commercial Description:
Treat yourself to a rare delight. The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale.
Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

Aroma of fresh Raspberry and and ale, consisting mainly of sweet fruit and malt characters, surprisingly, not to sweet as the nose makes you think it will be.the fruit really shine in the aroma and in the mouthful.
the taste was not overly dry. Light bodied, not over carbonated, finishes was a little sweeter then tartness.

Overall a must try beer

a - poured a two-fingers thick eggshell-colored head into a tulip glass that left a thin ring throughout. the body was a dark reddish-purple color.
s - big raspberry aroma.
t - same as the aroma, nice and tart. lip-smacking good.
m - medium and slick.
o - is new glarus my favorite brewery? they might be. they knock everything out of the park and this is no exception.

750ml bottle with a big recycled paper label on the front and a thin coat of purple wax over the cap. No vintage year on the bottle unless the color of the wax is suppose to tell me that. The big label has a drawing of three plump raspberries on a thin stem. Flanking the sides of the raspberries is the US Govt. Warning and 3 small paragraphs describing the beer.

When poured into a Rapp Brewing Tulip, this raspberry beer was a murky burgundy that had a faint tint of apple cider brown along the sides. On top of this brew was a long lasting reddish white 3/4 of an inch head of foam. Some of the burgundy from the color of the beer blended into the white of the foam. Excellent retention that left behind an everlasting soft skim of foam and a ton of sticky streaks and spots of lace. Everything about this appearance was top notch. There was nothing lacking in the appearance.

Don't expect a wide range of aromas in this beer. This beer had a straight up fresh raspberry aroma. I found raspberry jelly, raspberry wine, and a touch of wild raspberry. Raspberry!! There was a little tartness in the aroma, but it's extremely soft. It won't make you turn your head. Hope you like the rich the raspberry because that's the only thing you'll find in the nose.

The taste was extremely malty with a little hoppyness to back it up. Yeah right! This is the point of the New Glarus experience where you get to taste all of those raspberries that you smelled. The tartness in the taste was a little higher than the aroma, but it was still pretty mild. Unlike the aroma, there were other flavors in the taste. My tastebuds found a hint of apple, a few grapes, and a speck of cranberry. All of these flavors bowed down to the mighty raspberry.

This was a creamy light bodied beer that certainly wasn't light in flavor. The mouthfeel had a good amount of carbonation and a lightly tart aftertaste of raspberry and a hint of grapes and cranberries.

New Glarus nailed it with the raspberries. The beer was one dimensional, but it's an extremely well made and delicious one dimensional beer. If you don't like the taste the raspberries, better stay clear of this beer. If you like well made lightly tart fruit beers, you better make a run for the Wisconsin border and pick yourself up a bottle. This beer kind of makes me wish that I lived in Wisconsin. Big thanks to mnbuffalo for hooking me up!
