Notes/Commercial Description:
Treat yourself to a rare delight. The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale.
Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

Generally impressive beer. Well, if you enjoy fruit beers. Loved the appearance with its ruby red hue and nice foamy head. Smelled delicious and had tons of flavor!  The only knock for me was that it got pretty heavy after awhile due to the sweetness and tartness. I recommend this desert beer, but suggest you have someone else to share it with. Overall I liked this a lot better than the cherry ale New Glarus makes.

Pours a half fingers worth of a light red foamy head. This dissipates to a thin ring with islands on top. Very nice white lacing remains throughout.

Smells very big of cranberries, raspberries and hints of blueberries. Touch of sweet clean malts and yeasty esters.

Tastes like an amazing thick and creamy can-rasbperry fruit cocktail. Raspberry and cranberry notes dominate. The tartness of the fruit make this quite balanced.

Full bodied with light carbonation. A bit sticky and and tart on the finish.

Overall this beer kicks ass in my book. Super sweet but not in that icky cloying way a big beer sometimes tastes. I chilled the rest of the bottle colder, as it does state on the bottle to drink cold. Yes drink this cold, the flavors for the most part don't get hidden with temp. Big bold raspberry and cranberry flavors with a very full mouthfeel keep me wanting more.

Appearance. Pours a deep rusty amber with almost a finger of thick and creamy, off white head.

Smell. Sour raspberries and a bit of caramel maltyness.

Taste. Whoa! Sweet and sour raspberry juice, the good stuff, not some shitty raspberry juice blend. Maybe a little wood too. Not much else. Really delicious.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a slight syrupy stickiness and medium-low carbonation.

Overall. I love this beer. Pretty original. Would like to drink it again on a hot and sunny afternoon.

Thanks, SourNotes!!

750ml bottle served in a water goblet.

L - clear reddish/amber color with a slight head that thinned to a light ring.

S - tart raspberries.

T - raspberry taste from start to finish with waves of tart and sweet.

F - light/medium bodied with a fizzy feel.

O - very good example of the style.

Bottle

Thanks for opening this one, NoSignsOfPain!

Dark, but clear magenta with a pillowy, cloudy light pink head that sticks around for quite some time. Eventually. once it diminishes, it leaves the glass a bit sticky and oily with residue, but not much lace in the true sense of the word.

Incredible aroma, and certainly the hallmark of this beer. The aroma is simply: fresh, vibrant, juicy raspberries. There's little else leftover other than the raspberries, but, nothing is missed. It's incredible.

The flavor too has a lot of genuine, fresh raspberry flavor, though there's also an incredible sweetness, coming off as syrupy just a bit. If this were just a touch more bitter and less sweet, it'd really be a world beater. As it stands, it's a very sweet, juicy, nearly syrupy raspberry ale.

Thin to medium bodied with low to moderate carbonation. Perhaps, this beer would come off as less sweet if the carbonation was higher.

A true ode to the raspberry, though I wish it were just a bit less sweet.
