Appearance- Pours a nice dark copper color, almost reddish appearance. Foam dissapates quickly leaving a whispy foam that becomes more concentrated as you move toward the center of the beer forming a nice mound in the center.
Aroma- Nicely balanced between hops and aroma. It has that nice citrusy, piney, I.P.A. smell but you definetly notice the nice malts too. The malts smell of dark brown sugar, molasses, and caramel.
Taste- this has a piney taste that hits you upfront followed by a toasted/burnt bitterness that reminds me of charcoal or burnt toast. A nice bitterness lingers on the tounge after the swallow. The malts dont show up as much as expected but I am thinking toasted malt may have been used to darken this beer but also added to the bitterness of this I.P.A.
Mouthfeel-Thick upfront followed by a slightly below average carbonation.
Drinkability- A nice I.P.A. not overpowering and you can drink a couple without getting a hop headache. Well balanced.

A very orange beer, you didn't see this color in Midwest beers too often if at all back when this hit shelves for the first time. The dry hopping wasn't huge, but it was a shift in direction for this region.
Taste was a nice drier toasted pale malt bill paired with hops beyond your usual 6% midwest ipa. Very little caramel, this paired toast with green veggie hops. Its pretty straightforward and easy drinking around the 50ibu range. I really liked it.
