Cheers to Goblinmunkey7 for giving me a bottle of this gem. I haven't even tasted it, but considering this is a fruit beer by New Glarus, I assume it's awesome.

Consumed 7/18/13

Appearance: Pours a hazy blend of copper and medium amber - some nice clarity around the edges - medium sized, creamy, off-white head - leaves some nice streaks of lacing

Smell: Baked and cooked apples, like a homemade apple pie splattered with apple sauce - cinnamon, nutmeg, and other spices - fresh-pressed apple cider (definitely not hard cider) - esters common in New Glarus fruit beers - very sweet fruit - some sweet, pale malts, like apple cider

Taste: Not far off from throwing apple pie in a blender, or at least apple pie filling - sweet, cooked apple flesh and some apple skin - apple juice, apple cider, and apple sauce - a light touch of spice, particularly cinnamon, but not as much as I thought from the aroma - sweet, light, pale malts, like pie crust sprinkled with sugar - a bit too sweet overall, but very interesting

Mouthfeel: Medium-ish body, lots of residual sugars, nicely carbonated, smooth

Overall: I want some apple drink. It's green!

Another great fruit beer from New Glarus, no surprise there. This is really sweet, and could probably benefit from some tartness. Regardless, the amount of apple flavor here is amazing. I hope to drink this again. Repeatedly. Perhaps out of a juice box.

Sampled from a 12oz bottle. Thanks surge1311!

A - Golden with decent clarity and a small white head.

S - Wonderful and layered apple notes with both tart and sweet aspects. Smells like a freshly made apple sauce.

T - More cider than ale but does have aspects of both. A mild sweetness and hints of wheat.

M - A moderate consistency with a refreshing carbonation.

O - Not something I'd drink every day but an interesting cider / ale hybrid. It's like apple pie in a glass.

Bottle courtesy of bertram!

A. Pours a slightly cloudy copper color, like a fall sunset. A finger of creamy white head sifts down to a half finger and lingers nicely. Good frothy lacing latches on to the glass and slides down in the nectar below.

S. The nose is almost completely comprised of freshly baked apples. Smells very cider or apple juice like. A little bit of caramel and biscuit is hanging out in the background there, but only a bit.

T. Wow is that tasty. Hard to believe this is a beer as it is mostly sweet, fresh apples. Very juicy and even mildly tart a la Granny Smith, but not overbearing. Pretty well rounded, with just a touch of graininess on the back end.

M. Crisp, sweet, and juicy without going into sticky, sickly sweet territory. Strong carbonation on this one keeps it from going syrupy.

O. Very tasty. Like grown up apple juice. It certainly echoes hard cider to a degree, except for the fact that the apple notes here taste wholesome and fresh as opposed to chemically induced. Additionally, the beer doesn't wander off into a syrupy sweet mess. Booze isn't detectable, though I'm not getting a lot malt or hop presence either. Pretty impressive (and tasty) effort here if you are a fruit beer fan.
