NG suggests serving just above room temperature. I'vegot it just at room temp.
Nice and black in the glass, just with a cola coloured fringe. Head is active on pour, and lands at two fingers of tan-ness (tan-ness?). Falls quickly to less than one finger, leaving thick wet lace behind.
Smell is light, airy, and yeasty- with just a hint of hop spice, and a nice maltiness under.
Flavour is woody and smoky up front, with a thin, even slight fruitiness after. A bit of spiciness holds it up until the end. There's some almond and raisin here.
Mouthfeel is thinner than expected, with a slightly higher-than-expected carbonation.
Rather drinkable, but I've had better oatmeal stouts.
