A: Deep dark brown; slightly translucent. Pours with about a 1/4" of bubbly-foamy light tan head that leaves a good bit of lacing.
S: A blend of tart and sweet cherries with some cola.
T: Lightly sweet cherry cola. Some vanilla and a little chocolate. Real cherries, not the artificial flavoring one would find in a cherry Coke. Flavor falls off quickly, but there is a faint taste of sweet malt and cherries that lingers on the tongue.
M: Thin for the style, but it works for this beer. Lighter carbonation. Slightly "prickly"
D: I'm rarely wowed by a beer anymore these days, but this one impressed me. Exceedingly easy to drink. And, sure, it's not much of a stout, but it's still one damn tasty beer that, unlike Belgian Red, offers up more than just a glass of sweet cherry flavor.
