12oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass.
A - Medium sized white cap of tight head. Light golden in color with good clarity. Good lacing on the glass.
S - I'm finding a little bit of noble hops but this beer seems to be slightly light struck. There are some husky grain smells also.
T - Very quick and light malt to a good grassy hop flavor mid palate. I get some of that skunkiness mixing it up with the hops throughout. Crisp feel to its finish with a grassy hop that lingers for a while.
M - Nice carbonation to the beer helping accentuate the hop flavors. Light body, very dry.
O - Great appearance. I'm disappointed in the condition of the beer although it wasn't completely ruined. Flavor wise the green bottle character somewhat mimicked, to an extent, the hops.

Home Town Blonde is one impressive looking beer. Absolutely glows like a gold bar with plenty of large carbonation bubbles rising to the 3 finger white heaed that formed on the pour. The head eventually fades to a half finger cap that leaves decent lacing. If the lacing was slightly better this beer would get a 5, it's as close as you can get to getting a 5 anyway.
Extremely refreshing aromas come from this beer. There's a very light pale base that has a touch of caramel mixed in there. The showcase is the use of hops. According to the bottle 4 varities were used. A very refreshing light grassy hop aroma hits the nose first but is quickly followed by a couple squeezes of lemon juice. I've said it before and I'll say it again "very refreshing".
Much like the aroma biscuity malts start things off and always float around in the background but the showcase is hops. Grassy hops show up almost immediately and give a pleasant mild bitterness mid palate. The citrus (lemon) shows itself toward the end and goes nicely hand in hand with the grassiness. Finishes mostly grassy but as I sit the lemon tartness comes around again. Probably my favorite all time Pilsner.
Mouthfeel is medium light and airy toward the back of the tongue. Mild bitterness along the sides and back of tongue that lingers and make this beer so enjoyable.
Fantastic drinkability! This is a non-stop all day long drinker.
My favorite pilsner and one of my new favorite summer quaffs. In my opinion this should be a year round offering. I never thought I would rate a pilsner this high but this beer is so good and refreshing for style it deserves every bit of praise it will ever recieve.
