A very nice lager from New Glarus (as usual), but for a Czech Pilsner, I prefer a stronger Saaz presence. Color is golden, and beer is nearly clear. Produces a thick white head that persists. Smell is sweet malt and very subtle. Tastes delicious, just a very nice lager malt flavor. This would be perfect on a hot summer day.

A-Clear deep yellow, almost a light orange. One finger head and some carbonation.

S-Wheat, bread, toast, slight grass but not much else.

T-Rather bread/toast/wheat forward. Some very slight grass and lemon. Not much if any bitterness though.

M-Lighter with nice carbonation.

O-This beer grew on me as I drank it. Still not a Pils fan but this beer was decent.

Dough and bread aromas with something vegetal that's tough to detect - maybe light hop aromas? Very clean. Straw/ light orange color with loose chains of bubbles. Pours a rocky head that dissipates quickly. Light, sweet body with a very mellow bitterness. Sweetness and caramel malt flavors quickly transition to a tart citrus-like finish. Malt and tartness are more prevalent than hop flavor. Really enjoyed that aspect of this beer.

Poured into my Pilsner Urquell footed pilsner glass. Pours a deep, clear golden with a rich, white head that leaves great lacing. There's a good amount of visible carbonation. Buttery biscuits are picked up on the nose. Taste is similar with some grassy bitterness on the end. Very crisp and clean, as a pilsner should be.

Overall: Not much hop presence to this one, and the bready malts are a bit lacking in boldness. But even though it's not the greatest pilsner in the world, it's still worth a try.
