A: A brilliantly clear golden colored beer with a pillowy bright white head, great retention. Thick chunky laceing down the NG pilsner glass with each sip. And the bubbles rocketing up from the WI logo at the bottom are a nice touch.

S: Bready grainy pilsner malt aroma balanced with spicey noble hops. Very clean smelly hop aroma.

T: Everything is well balanced in the flavor off this beer. The hop bitterness is moderate and flavor is consistant with the noble aroma but never becomes over powering or fatigueing. The clean, crisp fermentation character is very similar to lagers i've had from germany (Wyeast 2124?). And the malt complexity is there even though its probably only pilser malt. Bready, almost sweet but thats not the correct word and grainy (but in a good way).

M: The light to moderate body makes it very drinkable. Moderate carbonation. Refreshing!

O: I've been diving in to the german/czech pilsners/lagers latley and with NG redily available in WI what a high bar to set. I've had examples from germany that have been sitting on a shelf but don't quite stack up.. this is a winner all the way.

A very nice lager from New Glarus (as usual), but for a Czech Pilsner, I prefer a stronger Saaz presence. Color is golden, and beer is nearly clear. Produces a thick white head that persists. Smell is sweet malt and very subtle. Tastes delicious, just a very nice lager malt flavor. This would be perfect on a hot summer day.
