Poured into a pint glass. Had to wait a bit for the abundant head to simmer down a bit before completing the pour.
A: Tan, golden, hazy. Head is thin and white, and dissipates rapidly.
S: The nose was apparent as soon as I opened the bottle. Ripe banana, perhaps a bit of hops. No spicing, but an apparent, yeasty sweetness on the nose.
T: Nice malt characteristic. The Belgian yeast is beautiful, and spot-on for style. A little sweet, but not as sweet as the nose might indicate. Very little bittering hops--a bit of earthiness, if anything. Simple and balanced.
M: The haze would indicate a good chew--it's there. Despite the voluminous head, it's a bit thin.
D: High. An interesting hybrid of ingredients to create a classic style, it's not too busy. It will turn off those who abhor banana beers, but overall it adheres to style, and is thought-provoking without being overly clever.
