Pours a hazy orange, even hazy due to my swirling the yeast in, 2 fingers of white head, that has been sticking around for the last 15 minutes, very nice lacing
Smell is banana, spice like a cinnamon, clove, some subtle orange, a nice Belgian yeast
Taste is like a mix of banana and lemon bread in the opening followed by a bready maly, spice and more of a earthy banana bringing up the rear.
Mouthfeel is full due to the fine and abundant carbonation, finishes clean
This has always been Hefe and it remains so, I look forward to its release every year! Cheers!

Damn, I think this qualifies as an imperial hefe. At least it does in my book. And to clarify: It's an amplified hefeweizen that stays dry without the heavier body and fruitier flavors of a weizenbock. There's a big spicy clove aroma with hints of earthy, rustic bread and orange peel. The flavor gets fruitier, balancing a milder peppery spice level with touches of banana and berry with a malty edge of toast. The beer continues with little hits of vanilla and milky caramel. Man, what a beer. This is likely the best German wheat I've had and on par with a great Belgian tripel.
