Poured down the center of a Left Hand balloon glass from a 12oz bottle. I know it should be a weizen glass but I don't have one on hand at the moment.
Appearance: A slightly hazy golden body with a huge three finger highly-carbonated head. The head slowly recedes and leaves a halo of foam. A moderate amount of lacing.
Smell: An aroma of creamed sweetcorn dominates with hints of wheat, banana, bubblegum, citrus, and spice.
Taste: A taste that matches the flavor; creamed sweetcorn and wheat give way to a burst of mouthwatering banana, orange, and citrus. Plenty of spice and pepper on the finish. Delicious.
Mouth: Medium body with quite a fair amount of carbonation. A slight prickliness from the carbonation compliments the pepper and spice finish.
The aroma, the variety of flavors, the mouthfeel... I love this beer. New Glarus hit a homerun with this one.

Appearance: Massive head on the pour, light and foamy which dissipated but was present throughout. Above average active carbonation. Golden color with some accents of slightly burnt orange.
Smell: A lot of the traditional wheat and leafy greens. But below those is a peculiar soapy aroma which I can't really get past. It isn't that offensive and doesn't ruin the aroma for me but is distracting. The wheat and yeast is very bright and there is some solid hop balance as well.
Taste: Bubbly champaign texture greets the palette right away. That quickly gives way to a creamy wheat front. Delicious leafy greens pop through and give this brew a ton of depth in the middle of this brew. No off tastes or anything like in the aroma. For having such a high abv for a Hefeweizen, you do not get any of the alcohol. The lighter body leaves a little to be desired in the aftertaste as this beer fades away rather quickly.
Mouthfeel: Very light, is an incredibly easy drinker but could use some more body.
Overall: I'm a little conflicted about this one. Some aspects I absolutely love and others I am not crazy about. The front and middle tastes of this beer are absolutely outstanding which makes this a memorable beer.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall New Glarus Signature Pilsner Glass.
Appearance: Pours a hazy yellowish golden orange with a lot of bubbles. Huge five finger white head with decent retention. Leaves a good amount of lacing on the glass.
Smell: A sweet and fruity wheat driven aroma with some good spice hints. Lots of wheat with some clove, pepper, and cinnamon spices. Huge aroma of bananas all around. Bready pale malts with hints of biscuit, cereal grains, straw, and yeast. Subtle citrus orange and lemon hints. Also some bubblegum hints and honey sweetness. Earthy and floral hints of hops in the background. A really nice Hefeweizen aroma.
Taste: Like the aroma hints, a big wheat and spice driven taste with lots of banana esters. Big taste of wheat upfront. Good mix of clove, pepper, and cinnamon spices. Big taste of bananas throughout as well as some bubblegum. Also some fruit notes of citrus orange and lemon. Bready pale malts with notes of biscuit, cereal grains, yeast, and straw. Some sweet honey like notes. Decent backing of earthy and floral hops towards the finish. Very wheat and banana forward. Pretty good taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Creamy, crisp, and pretty smooth. Starts sweet and finishes fairly dry.
Overall: A very good American take on the Hefeweizen style. Very good banana fruit flavors and spice. One of the better non- German versions.
